it's very C215 whose work i love. Prefer the coloured close-up portraits with the smudges & drips that are on his website, less like other work/artists IMO

I dont really see the Vhils - c215 apart from the common theme of portraiture. It would be great to have a sub £200 quid print. The bleach piece should work as a print as some printing plates are acid etched.

Agreed. The lad has a major talent but I am wondering how he will cope with the space restriction of paper / canvas.

yea 2 fave artists atm = c215 and vhils but i don't necessary see the similarities since one does stenciling the other uses either poster layering/drilling and what not.

I cannot for the life of me see how you can translate what Vhils does to print format. He blew me away with his work at Cans, and I too really hope his print isn't the image above as I cannot believe that this would be good for him artistically. For me his work is about texture, depth and medium - this all potentially lost in a screenprint (unless done on concrete with battery acid handfinishing!)
Huge talent that I hope hits the heights. And those carmicheal pieces are fantastic

His work at Cans was exceptional and one of the genuine highlights. Will be interesting to see how it translates into a print format.

Why?

I guess that POW to me represent great openings to emerging artists, but at the same time seem to be the "Art Monster", the Tesco of urban/contemporary art (there is an image to play with if you are an artist ;D), growing in stature, in the way previous releases have gone, the hype they use, previous potentially dodgy dealings on releases, the bay etc....

I just wanted the love to be spread around, that all! It's like any other commercial sector, the giants and the minnows, I am a fan always of the minnow!
