Sothebys Auction end of Feb, by ed on Feb 6, 2008 16:04:16 GMT 1, I was wondering what everyones opinion would be on the upcoming london sothebys show, in light of the Bonhams prices last night.
As previously posted ( banksyforum.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=ebaychat&action=display&thread=1199740264&page=1 ) I'm due to sell some of my art this month to get outta debt etc.
Would it be worthwhile now approaching Sothebys to see if any of my stuff can get added to their auction? Not really very knowledgable on this subject.

You can try, but I imagine it is closed now (catalogues printed etc)... The Bonhams one was closed before Christmas (I know as I wanted to put a couple of things in)

Pass mate, I know about the Sothebys one coming up, but I imagine that's closed now... just keep an eye out for any that may come about, I'll let you know if I see any...

Sothebys Auction end of Feb, by RBK on Feb 6, 2008 17:58:40 GMT 1, Sorry to break it to all you people dreaming up selling your collections for vast sums...
but the typcial auction cycle is you need to have your piece earmarked/approved for inclusion in an auction approx 3-4 months before it occurs.
And unless you have some an incredbile banger of a canvas - it wouldn't even make the Sothebys Feb. auction.
