Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by Charlie Bronson on Oct 31, 2020 18:17:23 GMT 1, Youโre entitled to an opinion, but how exactly is this a nonsense price point? The market is set via supply and demand. Thereโs little supply, and high demand. If original paintings are going for close to eight figure sums, why would a limited run print, of a few hundred, going for 70k, be nonsense? The math makes absolute sense. Based on Bโs past strategic moves that continually elevate him as an artist, you honestly think 10-20 years from now these prints arenโt going to be fetching 10x what they are now? Iโm betting todayโs โnonsenseโ price points will be viewed as bargains in the not so distant future. Sure, itโs all speculation, but using the info we have, and based on how things have shaped up the past 15 years or so, it seems to be shaping up that way. One of several reasons imho, despite the temptation of a nice pay day and ROI right now, everyone here should hang onto their B prints. OP, GLWTS. You donโt think the market is entirely manipulated by a few? Canโt wait to sell my banksys for a million each ๐๐
No, I donโt. Not at all. However I do wish I had the uncanny ability to make myself laugh hard just by saying things. Iโd never leave the house.

This is interesting. Telling though that the >$1m contemporary artworks were all Andy Warhol sets of 10. Thatโs โonlyโ $100k a print...

For sure. Iโm surprised the Warhols were as as high as $100k in 2012.

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by Zippy on Oct 31, 2020 21:33:31 GMT 1, Your last sentence is absolutely disgusting. Nah, it's hilarious especially since my family lost plenty of members in the war. I have stories that would make you cry. ย If Borat wrote it, you'd offer him a Puliter prize. ย Have a pint and wear a mask. ย Life's too short....
Life was certainly too short for the millions who perished. So it is not โhilariousโ in my opinion.

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by cest on Nov 1, 2020 2:15:27 GMT 1, My view on the parabolic raise in banksy prices
- UK owners sold these prints to the world during the brexit fiasco thinking the world was falling- now people in gb want them back - people have a much higher savings rate then they ever have since the pandemic. They are also not interested in negative interest rates or playing the stock market. Put it in art! - storage of wealth/ shits like gold - Banksy has a unique coa system that makes people feel they know what they are buying... why take a chance on a oil from a gallery or a picasso from an auction that may be a forge when you can get the real thing consistently with pc.
I'm not a seller, and I'd love to buy more. Saying that, I believe the market is poised to go higher- maybe way higher. Wait for the next us administration's fiscal policy to see how low the dollar sinks and then how eu and UK follow the us lead. More inflation/ more stimulus, the higher Banksy will go

Banksy hasn't reveled his/her/their identity. That alone is such an unknown that it could kill the market when/if it happens. And to the same point, what if Banksy is an idea that produces art for the next 100+ years? The reality is a lot of the auctions are just a handful of people buying stuff up and artificially inflating the market. If the demand was as large as people are trying to make it, no one would be able to buy anything from hang up or waluso. Go look at the number of Banksy pieces at waluso. They are still available. I wouldn't be surprised to find a group of gallies working together to buy at auctions. It's not 100s of people buying, it's a handful.
Everything has a ceiling? That is if money / fiat currency is in a vacuum.
The rest is conspiracy theory bullshit.

There was a placard rat in auction at the end of last year described just as an AP when I believe it was a DNAP and that went for a lot more than expected.
I agree Happy Choppers is a real grail piece.

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by concrete jungle on Jan 23, 2021 19:54:44 GMT 1, Interesting. Personally I see the attraction of an AP that has something a little bit different from the edition - alternative colourway for example. I've a few non B APs that are just 'overruns' of the standard edition (assume to cover damaged prints, friends and family etc) - can't say I see them as being much more desirable tbh but I know some people on here love low numbers, round numbers, high numbers, matching numbers etc on their prints, so each to their own!
