Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by lesroy on Jul 8, 2007 10:14:10 GMT 1, Happy choppers is just stunning... another classic image and then printed outside the borders of the print in a truly Banksy-only way! Always been on my wish list and as GBH says, 2000 may look a snip in a year!

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by tomhills1 on Jul 8, 2007 17:10:05 GMT 1, yeah, with you on the choppers, please bear in mind though 2 grand will not be a steal at any time in the future. it will be top dollar for an unsigned which is where the market is at just now. if you can afford it and you will hang on to it, you won't go far wrong. just don't expect a return on your money at any stage in real terms.

One thing I've learnt in the last year of this Banksy madness is never say never, who knows what's going to happen, I wouldn't make any bets, signed maybe over £10,000 unsigned maybe at least £3000, who knows? CWS went for £17,000 at auction recently and even an unsigned Love Rat went for around or over £1500 (I haven't checked the exact facts) then again it could all drop off.
One things almost sure, one day I'll have to face up to selling my Banksy's and I bet I'll sell then watch them double or more, or I'll be selling for a fraction of their 'high' value, it's sods law isn't it. ;D

what goes up must come down . maybe they will end up at those figures CBL, i just think the sharp rises of the last year and the last six months especially suggest a correction sooner rather than later. i really think there is an air of panic buying occuring just now, love rat and toxic mary close to a grand? no thanks.
interestingly this debate comes up at least once a week ;D and we will never know the truth until such a scenario occurs. gotta love hindsight eh.

You say Love Rat & Toxic Mary close to a grand, no thanks, but I bet that's similar to what was being said a little over a year ago when they had jumped from £74 to nearly £400 in a year, I bet people said Love Rat & Toxic Mary over £300 madness bound to drop etc
You're talking about sharp rises but they're not as sharp as they've been in the past, unsigned have doubled in the last year but that's nothing compared to the four fold increase in the previous year.
When will you sell your Grin Reaper? now? 6 months? or when it reaches a certain number, which would be?

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by beau on Nov 22, 2006 21:10:15 GMT 1, Hi Guys,
i'm the nutter that just bought the Happy Choppers image on ebay - not signed or numbered - just written 'TEST' across it - item 180050290802
what does everyone think? I paid just over 550 - i just love this image the most i think it's the best print ever - the colours subject composition humour and intelligence really do it for me - plus it will look spot on in my lounge!
i've missed out on a numbered one a few times now and last gallery i asked on price came back with 4 and a half large!
Have i fallen for a wrongun or does it not matter cos i'll never sell it anyway?!?
Anyway what do ya think - fake - not - crap? give me some reassurance!
thanks!

All things considered, you got a fantastic piece of work at a bargain basement price, though I guess 500 quid plus is a lot for anything, let alone a print. As you say, you have no plans to sell it and this is the cheapest you'll EVER find it. Another test sold recently for 800 plus. These were given to other stores for disply purposes when POW used to sell to concessions. It's not strictly legit, and doubtful a gallery would stock or sell them, but I guess that's not the point, It's a highly sought after image, and you've got it ;D

It is a genuine print from the run but was not numbered as it would have been used as a 'sample' to give out to other shop / stores. Enjoy it and wouldnt it llok fab next to a grin reeper or love rat? ;-)

Good analogy, hadn't thought of that. Yes, I regard my white lables, promos and test pressings as been more valuable than the official releases.
ahhh, but thinking about it..Dj'ing's about having and breaking them first, but I see your point.. this I'd say is more like having a shop display item..(which is what it is) they're usually cheaper

Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by beau on Jul 23, 2007 10:53:03 GMT 1, Love them choppers! ;D ;D ;D
I managed to pick up a 'test' choppers on the bay a while ago - was all that was around it's the same print and i bloody love it and i doubt it will leave my lounge for a while.
Does anyone have an idea of the value of this print - same as unsigned - less/more?
could always dupe people in saying it's a 'rare test' print - but i know this dont mean twash and it has no provenance other than some half cocked story about a sales rep and a girl setting up an art store...?
THOUGHTS?
