Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by pokodogo on Jul 10, 2009 15:04:29 GMT 1, My regular framer has done a test frame job on on of the peices from my Choe Triptych, im undecided, the pink of the mount matches the sleeve on the girl in each print. If I cant get to grips with this a TOTAL reframe or maybe SELL them............
........Honest thoughts please chaps?

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by Dellboyy on Jul 10, 2009 15:06:24 GMT 1, Just my opinion of course, but the pink is a bit too strong for me, it draws the eyes away from the image. I'd probably lean towards a thin strip of pink under a much paler outer mount!

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by jusdeep on Jul 10, 2009 15:13:26 GMT 1, Sorry, maybe being slightly blond but I don't understand what your saying? You've had all 3 framed this way, just one to test the framing, thinking of framing with pink mounts, or you're not sure which route to take and want help? If you can live with the pink do it, personally I'd say the frame is too wide in comparison to the mount.

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by pokodogo on Jul 10, 2009 15:21:59 GMT 1, Just had the one framed up to see what its like, want opinions whether I should frame all three up the same. Just wanted to try something different than box black frame.
Heres my "London Girl" which we experimented on to (well the framer did) I was pleased with this result.
Back to the Triptych agree may look better with a double mount (white on top of the pink) or even a thinner Pink mount maybe the way to go then.

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by manty on Jul 10, 2009 15:49:12 GMT 1, All I can see is pink, kinda detracts from the lady in the frame. Would gold look too much for the mount?

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by pokodogo on Jul 10, 2009 15:53:31 GMT 1, What you reckon manty, a gold sort of frame, still with the pink mount.
Always a problem with these sort of Choe works, that much going on in the image and that much colour, bar sticking with a Black Frame its hard to get it just right.
Gold frame my be just a bit to much, what style of frame you thinking manty? Or do you mean a gold mount (think this may take to much away from the image)... the pink is much paler than it looks on the image.

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by manty on Jul 10, 2009 15:57:14 GMT 1, Most framers have and assortment of differant coloured L shaped mount templates, what I meant was leave the white frame, and try a gold mount/and or other colours, anything but pink, lose the pink man

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by Dellboyy on Jul 10, 2009 15:57:43 GMT 1, This is where i take advantage of my framer... i go there having something in my head as to how it should look, he then pulls out a couple of frames n mounts that just end up looking perfect!

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by pokodogo on Jul 10, 2009 16:02:49 GMT 1, Manty/dell
we have had every colour mount in the shop out....on these prints, just so difficult with all the colour going on.
I always leave it in the framers hands but having so much going on and it been a TRIPTYCH this is a hard task. He said he'd try this and see what I thought, ive put it up just to see if it grows on me over the weekend.
One plus is the White frame and pink mount gives the room a much brighter feel
Would love to see others framed up only seen one persons (down a staircase White frame and mount).

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by sand on Jul 10, 2009 16:12:00 GMT 1, Agree with Ross.
With Choe's work being so busy / colourful / detailed you really need a simple frame job that makes the art in the frame stand out.
I would avoid going for a colourful mount.
That city girl is framed beautifully and really lets the art do the talking.
Agree with Ross.

Test Frame Job CHOE Triptych - Opinions Please ?, by pokodogo on Jul 13, 2009 8:45:53 GMT 1, Right..........After having this on the wall all weekend im back to the framers this morning.
Im going to ask him to keep some of the pink mount but double mount it with either white over/under the pink or as manty said Gold, so gold under the pink. White/pink option may be the way we go.
So im going to keep the White frame then thickish white mount with thin pink mount underneath then the image. Pics will be posted when Ive got it done..........or experimented at the framers.
If this doesnt work and im not happy for them to go on the wall, im going to shift them on. Anyone know what price this would fetch either off someone on here or on the bay???

Here's something I put together in 30 seconds (so not the best example!), but it could help you work out what to go for!
