They nicked 'The Drinker' statue didn't they, not this one.
And then it was nicked from them, hopefully by Mr B.

Not sure if its the same one, but one of my mates from essex told me a Statue was picked up by one of his crew and then returned. Apparently a healthy return fee was paid....

Might by total BS, but im quite sure there is some strength in the story...

I remember the first time I saw The Drinker on its plinth in Shaftesbury Avenue. Banksy had tagged the concrete plinth and the council cleaned it off but didn't realise the statue was an imposter. That was just a mind blowing step up from anythign else at the time. Brilliant stuff!

I was there for the statue of liberty or Scales of justice etc launch..............artkieda were there trying to hijack the limelight by selling there t-shirts........£10 each if I remember rightly

This statue was actually removed by the council and then steve pow got it back............whatever happened after that I have no idea.

The Sword (or maybe the scales ) however where nicked pretty soon afterwards but I believe Banksy gave a reward for there return

Artkieda.nicked the drinker and had it in his garden for a few years .......I think once he started to tout it round for sale / auction etc it got nicked from him
