What's the point in posting this? It says on Banksy's site that "Banksy does not do commissions and has never been given the keys to Kate Moss's house to paint her kitchen."

Sounds like you need a new source Puds.
It wasn't the canvas, that was stolen, the piece that was stolen was a signed print, gifted to her by Laz (she signed 2 of them, one for her and the other Laz has kept), and its the black and white ap edition - like this one

I think PUD is referring to the Simon Cowell canvas.

Banksy & Kate Moss, by Daniel Silk on Aug 27, 2010 18:26:11 GMT 1, www.mirror.co.uk/latest-news/celebs/2010/05/04/kate-breaks-the-banksy-115875-22231742/
Kate breaks the Banksy By 3am 4/05/2010 HE PAINTS £150,000 MURAL AT MOSS HOUSE When Kate Moss wants a wall painted she doesn't call the local handyman... she rings Banksy. The guerilla graffiti artist has been given the keys to Kate Moss's mansion after she commissioned him to do a bizarre one-off mural. The supermodel, 36, wants her and several of her celebrity pals - including Prime Minister Gordon Brown - depicted through the ages. Measuring around 12ft by 18ft, the paintjob is understood to have cost Mossy up to £150,000. Should have gone to Homebase. We're told: "Kate is a big fan of Banksy and has several prints of his, plus a few originals, collected at home. He has even done a portrait of Moss herself. "She explained exactly what she wanted doing and Banksy gave her a quote. It wasn't cheap. Kate asked for an entire wall to be painted, showing Kate on the catwalk at all stages of her career - from a fresh-faced 16-year-old to her last appearance earlier this year. "The painting also shows various wellknown faces including pals Sadie Frost, Naomi Campbell, Lily Allen and even Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah. It is pretty eclectic." You can say that again. And we're told that, among all the beauties, there's a few beasts as well. Our source says: "Weirdly, the fashion show 'audience' also features a few animals. It is surrealist in nature, and extremely eye-catching. "Banksy has even been given a set of keys so he can let himself in. "He doesn't want neighbours prying or finding out who he is or what he's up to." Let's hope they don't read this, then. We can reveal the Croydon-born star has also had a top-of-the-range sauna and steam room installed in the loft at her £7million North London mansion. Canny Moss hopes she can cash in on all this fancy work if and when she eventually flogs her gaff. Adds our mole: "Kate hopes the Banksy artwork in addition to the work in her loft will add at least £200,000 to the value of her house. "She has thought all this through and hopes to make a considerable profit when she eventually sells up." Not just a pretty face, eh? She'll be laughing all the way to the Banksy...

Banksy & Kate Moss, by Sally on Aug 27, 2010 20:18:00 GMT 1, According to his website Banksy does not paint commissions:-
Banksy does not produce greeting cards or print photo-canvases or paint commissions or sell freshly baked bagels. Please take anything from this site and make your own (non-commercial use only thanks).
::)and that's so not true about the bagels either, I secretly filmed him working in his shop:-

Banksy & Kate Moss, by mmmike on Aug 27, 2010 21:09:42 GMT 1, If she was thinking about making money on it and was smart (as stated in the article) she would have had it done on canvas or something else portable. You really limit the market if you attach a house to art.
i would love to see the finished product if it is a true. But I think the article was kind of stupid.

Apparently no truth in the story whatsoever

Banksy & Kate Moss, by walshy on Sept 2, 2010 16:49:56 GMT 1, Old story, been around for ages and probably nothing in it. Cant imagine many of us are in the market for 200k commisions anyway, so im not sure why there is an issue if he did. If you are seriously in the market for that kind of price ranged work, im pretty sure its available.

I keep seeing stupid reposts of rubbish from years ago popping back up, quite often by Daniel and I honestly wonder what is trying to be achieved by doing so…… Very puzzling isn't it and a bit of a shame really. Mental health issue maybe? I could forgive that. Anyway, I hope it sorts itself out before doing too much damage to an otherwise great forum. I would expect that Daniel is probably trying to break up the onslaught of sales threads and collection liquidations with some substance. The "mental health" comment seems relatively inappropriate for the amount of time you spend on the forum. Some of that "rubbish" is pure gold unless you are here just trying to peddle overpriced Shrigley flips and it is diverting eyes from your posts. I would assume that Daniel has noted that new visitors basically don't come back because most of the longtime members aren't adding content just flogging their rubbish and adding zero and it drives potential new members away. If you click on the first page of any of those old posts, its crazy, people are actually talking about the art and the scene when it hit in real time. It doesn't seem like anybody even had a collection that they needed to dispose of (yet).
