I purchased the ‘Soup Cans’ unlimited poster from POW for a mere £10 shortly before it was deleted. In the past year or so since, i’ve noticed it readily available to buy on eBay. Early on you could get hold of one for little more than the original purchase price of a tenner. Lately, it’s been selling for anything between £50 - £100 (a ‘Soup Cans’ went for £77 just last weekend). Some sellers have ‘Buy Now’ for considerably more. I’ve recently attended Beejoir’s ‘Souled Out’ at TLSG and Nick Walker’s ‘V for Vandalism’ at BRP. Whilst queuing at these events I spoke to various people about their print collections which mostly comprised of much sought after pieces by Banksy, Nick Walker, D*Face and such like. Much to my surprise though a few were either unaware of ever knowing of the ‘Soup Cans’ availability or were just not at all bothered about ever purchasing it. Okay! it’s low budget, not numbered or signed (if only), although surprisingly the print finish is very good. Anyway, what i’m particularly curious about is how long were these posters available for? and How many did POW eventually sell? Will it become increasingly sought after? Can anyone shed any light on this underrated and maybe potentially rare Banksy print?

The number is up for debate, but I would say 1000s. They had it up on their site for a good long while and was available to purchase at the Ghetto 06. POW issued this as an unlimited litho so that anyone could own a Banksy at a great price. They may re-release this at any time, but I now doubt it. Its not very rare, and you should be able to pick one up for a round 30 odd quid if you look hard enough. I have one in my kitchen. Its great and one of the best tenners i ever spent!

I dont have all the answers to your questions, regarding numbers released. It is an unlimited print, which means they could be reprinted in the future. It is underrated, but i would not call it rare seeing as there are so many on the secondhand market.
Still a nice buy for the price. Hope that helps.

My feeling is that they might not have sold as many of these as you might expect. I for one didn't bother buying one as I thought they were unlimited & always thought i'd pick one up at sometime in the future....! I'm sure a lot of people did the same.

I remember that they sold out on POW at one point early last year and then later on they became available again. They still could make more. You should email POW with your questions.

People wake up - it's not worth jack - it's unlimited
- if you want one buy it for the image - if all posters is 3 cm smaller this should make no odds
- i reckon its as official pow or not
- it was always unlimited therefore was always likely to be available - in one way or another.

It's a poster - Athena - Pow - All Posters - it was never rare will never be and ok it's bansky
- if its all you can get then get one but not for anything close to £50
- there are better ways of spending your money see £50 thread.

like most people i have my litho soup can in the kitchen as i don't give too much of a fuck if it gets ruined, and have the editioned single can hanging elsewhere.

Yea i sold it for £77 where's the problem. i had it on my wall i enjoyed having it on my wall, now i dont want it on my wall so i stick it on ebay and make £67 where's the problem. I think someone might be a little upset they missed getting it for a tenner. so if you dont like it dont comment on it!

i love this image and happy to have it for so little. Thing is, its printed on thicker heavier paper than the flimsy posters I'm used to seeing. I wonder if allposters print it on the flimsy stuff.

The shipping charge on these to the US was almost the same cost as the print so I doubt very many got shipped over here. (just an added bit of info)

I have one of these, keep meaning to get it framed up in the kitchen. I wish I had a signed soup can print...tis very iconic in my eyes.
