[glow=red,2,300]hi! thanks for your interest in the super new prints from anthony lister. due to overwhelming demand we have not been able to invite every person on the waiting list to purchase a set. in earlier emails we had planned a higher number edition release and so had indicated to a greater number of people that we could reserve a set on their behalf. however, anthony himself preferred an edition of 50, and stupidkrap.com had only 40 sets to release at this time. these were taken up very quickly. sincere apologies to anyone we could not invite at this time. we did our best to send the invitations in a fair way on a 'one set of prints per person' basis. please sign up for our kids today exhibition preview to see more work by anthony lister. we look forward to staying in touch and will keep you informed of any future news about the artwork of anthony lister. thanks again madeleine[/glow]

new lister, by jynormous on Mar 23, 2008 13:10:51 GMT 1, Ok guys, this seams to be quite an interesting subject.
I was offered the set early last week and hence took it up. I emailed them asking when the release was and hey said they had it for pre sale, so i bought a set.
Not sure what i did or said to be given the offer, but im very thankful! Must have been my turn after missing out on every print release since the big bang!
Sorry to all that missed out, i must admit, i dont think i was released the best way.
Happy easter. Jy.

new lister, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 23, 2008 15:49:24 GMT 1, As per my reply to Stupidcrap's email. I agree there's no perfect way to please people when prints are so oversubscribed. BUT these publishers can go further out of their way to discourage flippers and avoid dealing with them in the future. The best method I've heard of so far was the COA sent with the TMA Hollywood print, requesting that all changes of ownership were registered with the gallery by the buyer ASAP and that those wishing to sell contact the gallery to explain why beforehand. While I admit that anyone can fabricate a story regarding their circumstances, the gallery can use timeframe as a guide and apply common sense. I hope similar initiatives are taken by many other galleries soon.
I think the key is simply to show art-lovers who miss out that they are serious and proactively trying to get the art into the homes and collections of those who appreciate it. Simply stating that they are doing their best to be fair is not enough imo, as profit driven individuals are always 1st in line! Show some initiative please galleries.

i think they should have released the prints seperately. i was on this list and never heard anything after being promised. i have to say that i think this is by far the best Lister print i have seen and i'd have loved to get a set, but i wouldnt really want to frame and have 2 on wall. one is enough imo.

I guess in the end its up to the artist and i this case, it looks like Anthony wanted them released as a pair as they complement each other and add even more to the over all print, they make it that little bit special i guess.
I will post pics when i get mine, lets hope its still coming and they didnt over sell.
Cheers, Jy.

new lister, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 24, 2008 6:05:56 GMT 1, For my fello disappointed forumites , here's what the good people at stupid krap (love it) had to say and it seems very reasonable to me tbph.
"just wanted to let you know that our sales process was specifically designed to avoid the 'flippers' getting multiple copies of the prints for resale. i invited individuals and committed collectors who had been on the waiting list for up to 5 months to purchase single sets. i would be surprised to see any copies of this print set on ebay or for resale in the near future."
To any of you who did get this very good value for money and attractive piece of art... I hope you choke on it you bastards! I meant to say Enjoy it!!!! ;D

Didn't know he was painting these so large. Gives me a new respect for the work. Wonder what colors and textures are present when viewing the original in person that doesn't translate to print or online jpg photo.

Yeah, good pick up. Arthur Stace was the first to bomb the streets of Sydney in the late 60's and under the direction of the 'BIG' cheese himself!
