Replete π¬π§ TPN Crew Graffiti β’ Leeds Graffiti Artist, by Replete on Feb 2, 2011 19:18:29 GMT 1, Hi folks, Just finished this new piece and is something a bit different and very unique. It's entitled Carried Away In The Silken Spray and is painted in spraypaint on an old 1950/60's suitcase I found on my ramblings.
It turns out the case was owned by a costumier and was probably used in her business for storage/transport and is labelled with the tag of summer dresses so I thought it appropriate to paint a portrait of girl in a silk Victorian summer dress.
It's 24" x18" in length and width and 6" deep. All the locking clasps and lid hinges are still in full working order so the case can be open and shut. It's for sale, so if you're interested PM me or mail me at contact@repletes.net If you would like to purchase it send me a mail on contact@repletes.net All the best,
R

Replete π¬π§ TPN Crew Graffiti β’ Leeds Graffiti Artist, by Replete on Feb 14, 2011 17:37:48 GMT 1,
Quick one from the weekend in an abandoned Leeds factory.
The hand is just a sketch in aubergine with a bit of nature white over the top in places with a lot of the original paintwork left showing whilst I rendered the origami R in full tones for contrast and depth.
I manged to paint in the one spot that had a hole in the roof so it was a constant shower of water and plaster but I like how it added to the piece with all the flaking and crumbled parts near the floor.

Replete π¬π§ TPN Crew Graffiti β’ Leeds Graffiti Artist, by Replete on Mar 2, 2011 19:36:16 GMT 1, Hi all, Here's the latest installment of my series of portraits on found objects. It's entitled Upon Reflection On The Gilt Introspection. It's painted in spraypaint on an antique gilt mirror in the baroque style. It's 34"x16" (roughly 100cmx45cm).
It's full of small details as there's intricate patterns where paint has been selectively removed to reveal the mirror's surface underneath and couple with metallic gold paint the portrait constantly changes with the light and viewing angle. It's available if anyone's interested in purchasing it. Please contact me by PM or at contact@repletes.net
cheers,
R

Replete π¬π§ TPN Crew Graffiti β’ Leeds Graffiti Artist, by Replete on Mar 9, 2011 18:58:06 GMT 1, Hi all,
Got another installment in my series of portraits on found objects for you. It's entitled To Plunge Face First Into The Font's Boundaries. It's painted in spraypaint on a 100 year old antique wooden printer's tray that was used to contain the metal typesets for a printing press .
It's 32"x16" (roughly 90cmx45cm).
There's plenty of details like the shards of the piece's title being fractured across the piece (fitting the typeset theme) and some of the original wood grain and nails being visible at the edges of the painting.
It's available for sale. If you're interested in purchasing it please PM here or contact me at contact@repletes.net for enqiries about it.

Replete π¬π§ TPN Crew Graffiti β’ Leeds Graffiti Artist, by Replete on Mar 15, 2011 19:19:03 GMT 1, Hiya folks, Of late in the last week I've been experimenting with a new style based on abstracted urban landscapes.
The latest of which is entitled Ride The Visual Shunt and is painted and scratched in spraypaint on a found electrical metal panel. It's 32"x22" (roughly 90x60cm).
An abstracted interior of a subway train with the colours and texture of graffiti suffusing the structure.
All the highlights in the piece are actually a result of the paintwork being scratched off with my leatherman's knife revealing the metal panel's base coat emulating the sort of graffiti scratched into the paintwork of real subway trains.
The second piece is my first experiment and is entitled Hoarding Entropy In The Worn House and is 36x24" (96x64cm) painted in spraypaint on a gallery stretcher canvas. It's based on an abandoned paint factory's warehouse I used to paint before it was demolished and is partly inspired by the star gate sequence from the end of 2001 A Space Odyessy.
Both pieces come signed, with COA and an original pencil sketch used to create the piece. I've added them to my bigcartel site to aid purchase replete.bigcartel.com or you can contact me here or at contact@repletes.net about them.
For shipping outside of the UK, US or Canada please contact me for prices for postage.
All the best, R
