I think tthere might be privacy issues and problems with getting the permits to set up a screened scaffold so he's doing it this way instead. And he remains incognito. If he were on the platform painting, the NY photogs or paparazzi would trap him there once they got a tip off. Pap scum are 24/7 rats =p. Imagine what the price for the first confirmed pic of Banksy would be.

I think the 'E' is left over from the tag that was there before.
This one looks much better than the one in the t-shirt, which i thought looked a bit shoddy

I think this "banker rat" has to be a comment about the bail out plans. The money falling from the brief case... saving for a rainy day etc... The rat seems to be making a hasty getaway.
