Guided Tour of Banksy Graffiti (& others) - Part 4, by mido on Dec 11, 2006 3:26:00 GMT 1, If anyone is interested in buying my book, based on my Banksy tours and work on the locations map, please do, and thus helping me have more than Flapjack on Toast this Xmas :-)
You will also be helping the Big Issue Foundation, as I'll donate 20% of my sale price to them.
current ebay listing..... cgi.ebay.co.uk/Banksy-Locations-Tours-170-pages-PRE-ORDER-NOW_W0QQitemZ120062562373QQihZ002QQcategoryZ64262QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
also on Amazon...
Just in case anyone isn't clear, it is at the printers at the moment, and I expect delivery around the 16th Dec. I am quietly confident that barring the unusual scenario of being lost in the post (or the more likely scenario that the address paypal / ebay gives me for you is not the address you want me to use..... you will be amazed how often this is the case), that this should be with people IN THE UK before Xmas. I cannot guarantee it (unless you wish to pay £4.50 for guaranteed delivery), but I think that almost 1 working week (with 1st class mail) should be enough time for this to get to you.
I think there is a chance (but only a SMALL chance) that it could get to someone in Europe before Xmas. I wouldn't recommend you to rely on the post system to deliver this as an Xmas pressie for your loved one, and thus risk the traditional Xmas argument when it doesn't get to you in time
I VERY VERY much doubt that it could get to anyone outside of Europe before Xmas. sorry. I did try my best to get it printed earlier, but it's been hard for all of us, trying to juggle jobs, hobbies, time, resources etc.

Guided Tour of Banksy Graffiti (& others) - Part 4, by HowAboutNo on Dec 15, 2006 18:41:06 GMT 1,
Thanks loads for all your time and effort on this Martin, it must have been a huge amount of work! 170 pages! and all those Banksy pieces that I never would have found all by myself. Have bought a few copies to dish out to mates as Christmas presents - as I have been banging on about Banksy all year, and that I'll take them and show them all these bits in the street. Due to always doing different things at the same time, I have never got around to doing it, so they'll love it.
Also got one for a mate who is going to be visting from over in LA in the summer, so he can pick out the ones in advance that he wants to see.
Really looking forward to the summer already now, and hopefully all the new Banksys that will be on the streets by then too. Also means your tours will start up again. I'll be there for them all this time I promise!!
Thanks again, keep up the good work!

but I did receive the copies today (late on Tuesday 19th) and will send existing orders out on Wed 20th, 1st class.
Any copies ordered in UK from now until xmas will be sent 1st class, the day after ordering (I work during the day unfortunately, with no internet access).
If you want a last minute pick up I'll be in the brick lane (Truman brewery) upmarket on sunday 24th....
Oooh, and if I say so myself, it does look good :-)

Guided Tour of Banksy Graffiti (& others) - Part 4, by mido on Jan 10, 2007 3:58:19 GMT 1, Here’s an 8 minute film of me doing a graffiti / street art tour around Hoxton & Shoreditch back in September 2006. blip.tv/file/125319/
It’s done by Erika, who runs Channel Zero - a DIY punk, anarchist cable access show in san Francisco - channelzerosf.wordpress.com/
We met via a chance meeting at the vegan café I volunteer at (www.pogocafe.co.uk)
Apols for having to fight to be heard over the traffic, and try to speak off the cuff. And yes, my voice has always sounded like that. Hmmm!
By the way - VERY pleasant surprise that Erika used 'Babylon’s Burning' by the Ruts for the music. I vividly remember that from my youth - my brothers are a few years older than me and were well into the punk scene so I remember their 7" copy of that! still one of the best records around!!

Guided Tour of Banksy Graffiti (& others) - Part 4, by mido on Feb 5, 2007 2:49:07 GMT 1, the special limited edition pack is ready..... 100% for charity
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120082229814
SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION PACK - 100% IN AID OF THE BIG ISSUE FOUNDATION (registered charity no 1049077)
BANKSY LOCATIONS & TOURS
A Collection of Graffiti Locations & Photographs in London, mainly of Banksy's street work
For this pack, the buyer gets:
1) Signed & Numbered Copy of the Book (edition of 50 - signed by me, the author, not Banksy! :-) )
2) Two Signed & Numbered Hand Printed Black & White 10"x8” (25x20cm) Photos of original Banksy Graffiti that is featured as iconic images of the book (edition of 50)
a) Girl With Balloon - Hoxton - 19.2.2006 - The red balloon is uniquely hand coloured by me - when I took my photo of this iconic image the balloon's colour had gone, although the outline could be seen - a few months later, someone [Banksy maybe?] came along and repainted it red.
b) Placard Rat (London Doesn't Work) - Barbican - 26.4.2006 - What could be more Banksy than a placard rat, with a great message.
These are both exclusive editions for this limited edition charity pack. They will not be repeated again.
3) 2 x A4 colour publicity poster / press releases about the book
4) 2 x A6 colour publicity flyers about the book
5) A warm fuzzy feeling inside that you have donated £30 to a very good cause *
* - due to ancient regulations, warm fuzzy feelings cannot be guaranteed, or sent through the post, but I’m sure you’ll get it soon…..
A Note on the Donation to The Big Issue Foundation
The (minimal) bad news - Missionfish (eBay’s chosen provider for charity auction) do take a percentage of the value for their costs and development.
The (overwhelming) good news - 1) Missionfish is a registered charity itself, so any money they earn will still be going to a good cause, 2) eBay.co.uk donates the same percentage of the final value fees as the seller donates of their sale price. So in this example, I am donating 100%, which means eBay will also donate 100% of their final value fee to the benefiting charity! So all of you who whinge about how high eBay fees are, this is finally your chance to participate in something where eBay actually gives away the money they ‘earn’ :-) Anyone for hen’s teeth? 3) Doing it through missionfish means the donation is overseen by missionfish, and the seller cannot just conveniently forget to donate it!
14 gone so far. £400 donated to charity already.
keep it up you good people!
