Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by bobbyt23 on Apr 10, 2008 22:01:59 GMT 1, The one from Nick's website homepage is the best image from the last batch of work. Definately my favourite.
If his new stuff is anywhere near that standard I think the show will be superb.

Don't be silly. That's like ending a movement based on value. There are still people producing surreal work, impressionist, classicists. You might not be able to afford Dali, Monet or Raphael but if you like the genre they have a thousand impersonators....
Tiresome...

He didn't say anything about the end of a genre just that the people who now buy this work probably have little connection with grass roots vandals.

Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by ed on Apr 10, 2008 23:01:14 GMT 1, i'm going down, not really expecting to pick up a print, but i've all ready got the day off work for a job interview, and can get to london and back for £20 return atm
plus gonna meet up with a friend i haven't seen for a year or so and introduce him to the delights of free beer at private previews
Doubt i'll be online in the morning to see the fight for the online prints, and to be fair even at £650 i'd be a fool to buy something....altho thats not stopped me before..............

Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by doublehelix on Apr 10, 2008 23:57:51 GMT 1, I'm loving the plane image, fingers crossed it's one of the prints, and toes crossed I manage to bag myself one, still lots of wall space here, thankfully! For me the butterfly image isn't so strong, and def not worth the argy bargy of a long queue.

Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by artstylee on Apr 11, 2008 0:01:28 GMT 1, As far as I can tell flippers don't deal in originals cos they don't have the nelsons. simple. nicks new originals i hope are priced for collection, not the resale market. bo selecta
Yes I too hope he prices this for the collecting market. But not the Fake Elite High End Doctors Office, Douchebag Agent/Lawyer's Office BS market.
It's wasn't made to be put in that context. It's for the "True" street art collecting enthusiast.
To me, The TMA Series is about the exhausted Street artist that's marveling at his work after blessing a city with his talents and hard work.
To price this to cater towards the Rich Doesn't Seem Very Street/ Hip hop or B-Boy to me (which is what the news bulletin from BRP stated he is)
Hope they can manage to "Keep It Real".

The trouble and strife loves the butterfly image ( I prefer the plane) so were going down very early doors to get a print and not trying the online auction. Only getting one print between the two of us so if you see an ali mcgraw looking bird in the cue and your too late ask nicely she might get one for you.

Exactly, thankyou dinamaa.
I think you missed the point a little there Pauly.
All im trying to get at is that maybe people need to think about the target market thats improtant and in the case of graff and urban art its probably not people with mega £'s to blow (well it is if your in it for the cash)... The people who may have supported artists over the years and probably helped many artists get to the positions they are are in are being priced out of the market at the outset which dosent seem to make sense to me (and we're talking prints, i agree originals are a little different and do command a more unique price).
Anyway, i'll let it go now, hopefully i have made some sense.
Bring on the show, i'll be there for a 'look' only.

I'll find the post and quote it but I can't work out how to do more than one quote per post

BRP said earlier on on this thread that the print at the show would be priced at 650 to £1k. I agree that the online releases almost certainly won't be that much

Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by insite on Apr 11, 2008 10:33:35 GMT 1, its not a bad idea at all. gonna think on it and any possible negatives. What i should mention is that the print at the show is going to be in the £650 - £1000 price range as it is a little special and difficult to make. Just a pre warning so people dont queue all day to find out.
Here you go Carlito, horses mouth and all that.

Nick Walker V for Vandalism, by Grafter on Apr 11, 2008 10:35:28 GMT 1, I think it's time to realise that since the Bonham's auction ALL the established artists are likely to start commanding these sort of prices for a print. A well known name is now a prime target for the flippers, and it's simply a case of supply and demand.
