Hi Guys - Sorry to hijack the Banksy's forum but you tend to get lots of feedback here. I am considering one of the Micallef prints at Lazarides and I have two questions.

Question One - Value for money?

Questions Two - Bomber Girl or Minotaur Weapon?

Any comments welcome.

I like them... The price is obviously high at the moment as they haven't sold yet but I think they'll look cheap in the future... kind of like the Banksy 4 soupcan prints that Laz releases.

On question two - there is a thread on the ebay part of the forum about it, personally I prefer Minotaur Weapon

Micallef prices are in a rapid upwards spiral. Anybody's guess. Buy what you like before it's too late

Clearly I love MW - I saw it on AM's site when everyone was initially selling all the POW stuff. I thought I'd never have one. Then the next month LAZ released. Its a big purchase, but its only numbers in the bank otherwise, and they don't look pretty.

I'll post pics soon as its next up for framing.

Might seem a lot at the moment, but when they're sold...its up up up (so buy MW!!)

If you love the image and are going to hang it and enjoy looking at it everyday...GET IT!!! You will not be disappointed. Personally, I believe these will look like a steal in the near future.

I remember looking at the Banksy Kate's everyday. 2500 for a print??? I thought they had some nerve asking that much for these. But I loved the image and knew it would bring me a lot of happiness if it was hanging on my wall. I decided to step up and buy two of them. The most money I had ever spent on art before. Frankly, I was shitting in my pants at the time. Turns out it was a decent move right? I wake up every morning and I'm greeted by Kate. Would never even thing about selling. I guess my point is, I feel the Micallef prints are a very similar situation. If you love it, treat yourself and get it.

Justinkase is correct.
we have all dithered on buying something thinking it is expensive but when we look back, we kick ourselves and see it as a good deal. Not many can afford them but, if you are in a position to buy, go for it!
At worst you can always sell it if you dont like it..but at the best you will enjoy looking at it every day and it will increase in value.

Guys - Big plus to you all - Thanks for the sound advice. When I first bumped into Micallef's work I dithered over a HFNG at £250!!! I didn't buy but luckily got a SMS from POW when they released their lost prints in Feb for £200 and a AB2 from ebay for £400 (which looks like a still now).

I nearly lost my DFace Kant Complain canvas through delay but fortunately Olivia @ ocontemporary waited the extra day.

Opinions are fine Harveyn, but the facts tend to speak for themselves regarding the worth of Laz's prints. £4750, including taxes for editions of 50. Eyestorm are editions of 95 and a MWIH sold last week for just under £4500. So as for the value, although my opinion is that they are too expensive, the facts suggest that perhaps they are not, and even more pertinant, is the suggestion that in the not too distant future they may even be a snip at the current asking price.

If you have the ready funds, then my advice would be to buy whichever piece excites you.

if there wasn't so much else to buy, i'd defintely be looking to add bomber girl to my collection. how often do you get to buy a micallef at cost, even though that cost is a shitload more than POW. There's only ever going to be 50 of those prints floating about.

some maths to help you decide on ur purchase... if 21C and other editions of 95 are going for £3-5k i believe that the 3 prints still available should be priced between 6-8k at least....so in my opinion despite their very very expensive price (for a print)... they will be priced up once they sell... Most probably laz will keep a couple for stock and raise the prices himself....

Sadly enough... most ppl do not grab the opportunity when they have it... as since its not a sell out print they are afraid to take the plunge... then they prefer paying inflated prices on ebay or auctions! Its happens all the time - same old story.

i am going to repeat what i said in that other thread
these prints where great originals.....but these prints in my opnion arent that good a print....go see them at laz they have them to show...i still believe the eyestorm prints and indeed the POW prints to be better than these....
though everyones right there going to be a good investment
but if you dont have the others get those first i think
just my two pence worth of course

I love it, maybe my favorite LAZ print and i was really surprised it was last to sell!

Got an emal from Stefanne this morning. They've got distribution problems at the moment. Should be sorted by the end of the week, and therefore next week should see an arrival.
