Banksy Donuts Print, by G-Man on Jul 29, 2009 6:39:31 GMT 1, I know... I did think that was a bit crap really you should have to register again I reckon once lots of people have had no luck that they wouldnt bother again unless they really wanted one
I think that POW should reconsider
The good news though is that it implies that there will be another release soon!

Banksy Donuts Print, by stradled on Jul 29, 2009 7:47:53 GMT 1, Anyone else out there wondering if they typed in their email correctly? I was so excited to see the release that I banged out the reg... Now, it lingers... did I type in my email address correctly???
I am soo sure I messed mine up, reckon I put half my personal email address in with half my work email address. Just soo used to having to rush on POW.

If you go back to the POW site, you'll read that all unsuccessful applicants will no longer have to register for any other Banksy releases, as they'll automatically be entered.
Of course, if all this talk of mass I.P deletions is true (and a whole load of us at work entered...) that means we'll potentially NEVER have the chance of Banksy release - having been struck off the list..
Just a horrible, horrible thought...
Good luck though. (Lets out nervous fart.)

Do you think they'll bother to be that sophisticated? The system already won't allow the same e-mail to be entered twice as we know from this thread. So then you're on to deleting names/emails which look a bit too similar? You could easily delete perfectly genuine entries that way. And then what about offices or internet cafes which share IP addresses? A bit unfair to do a block delete of everyone who uses the same internet cafe, no?
I only entered once (probably naieve but it's straight shooting at least!) and would support POW's effort to delete entries which ignore the spirit of the rules. However at the same time I'm not sure it's possible in practice without victimising good faith entrants.
Anyway, enough over-analysis. None of us can control the process anyway so you just sit back and take your chances I say So for those who don't like the lottery process here's an idea - e-mail POW, take your name off the list voluntarily as a matter of principle and write a strongly worded letter to The Guardian all about it.
Good luck all

Banksy Donuts Print, by wizzy on Jul 29, 2009 9:09:30 GMT 1, I already picked out a place to hang it and a nice brown edge around a white matting on a black frame for the chocolate donut, of course, with my luck, I won't get picked.
Thats really organised!, choosing a frame and a mount AND a place to hang something you wont get.

I personally think they couldn't be bothered with the hassle so will not delete common IP addresses etc but will instead draw the names, wack them into an excel and sort by surname to ensure that no name is drawn twice. I could be wrong though
Wizbong, did you enter? Good luck, it's about time you had a Banksy

If this happens it will be a bit of a disgrace really and a serious rethink will again have to be made.
Oh well GOOD LUCK people..............

Surely though people could register and genuinely have the same name. What happens then , if you share the same name as someone who also likes banksy then you are out of luck.. .Surely not ,

You'd hope so but that's exactly my point. If POW got too drastic, they could easily delete valid entries - which is why on balance I suspect they won't take that approach.
