Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by mcnuts on May 19, 2008 11:52:44 GMT 1, Let the art do the talking and in Hush's case he will win everytime. Seriously? the work is so incredibly derivative, I dont know what it can win. Faile meets Japanese animie big tits and all.
If people want to vote with their dollar then fine. But even if Hush doesnt have multiple accounts to hype himself or have his mates do it, rest assured it is done. Makes good business sense really.
One really does need a shit filter on overdrive to see through a lot of stuff on this place nowadays anyway
EDIT: I'm not saying the work isnt good, the guy clearly can paint, a hell of a lot better than I can. So he has skills, I just dont see any new ideas there.

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by dogant on May 19, 2008 11:53:27 GMT 1, What a load of rubbish to wake up to on a Monday morning I have personally spoken to two of these members in the past and neither is Hush! I have also spoken with Hush this morning and he is very disappointed by the way a minority have tried to tarnish a very positive thread. He also no longer plans to use the forums which in the long run is a bad thing for everyone. Hush is an incredibly talented artist who has won around a number of critics with the quality of his art and he has no reason to waste his time by playing around as different people on an art forum! Jam you are clearly not a fan of Hush's work from the tone and the malicious nature of your post but I would request you do a little more research before throwing about accusations! Now lets get back to the art and away from the cloak and dagger! A
why are people so intent on fucking up this forum?
Yet another valued member moving on - it's bloody changing and I don't like it!
Agreed - lets get back to the real deal ART....
Now .....these 'Tits and Terror II" prints .......can we have a look....get us all excited again?
DA.
PS.
For the good people, please keep posting.... For the really good people, post the pictures!!!!

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by Agent Provocateur on May 19, 2008 11:56:07 GMT 1, How depressing... I've always chuckled at some of the conspiracies, arguments, bitching and general slaggings off on here, but why the posts (above) occurred I have no idea!
Some artists post and join in with the banter on the boards, some don't, there's good reasons for both. But with the Hush and Copyright show coming up both of the artists were joining in on this thread, showing pics, thanking people for the compliments... I even seem to remember Copyright mentioning how nervous he was about the up-coming show (maybe in another thread) because it means so much to him (our approval of his work).
Isn't this how we would like the board to work, allowing us 'fans' a place to discuss, comment and argue our points of view (within politeness and reason), and occasionally have the PRIVILEGE of the actual artists pop up every now and then to say hello and give us a bit of information about the street art world from their side?
I am very disappointed Hush has pushed away from the board because of some serious allegations and s**t stirring. I totally understand how he feels, just imaging yourself waking up one Monday morning and going onto your favorite discussion board... only to see for the three days you've been away members have been s******g you off and saying things that are unfounded.
I'd love Hush to reconsider his standpoint, and if it means I have to go back through this thread and see how many (very) positive comments were made about his work compared to the negative one's then I would.
Hush, I am quite new on the forum and probably don't know all the ins and outs but I can categorically say I haven't seen a more positive thread about an artists work since I have been on here (OK, OK, apart from Mr 'B'... mmm and possibly Miss Bugs ). Not only are people saying it's your best work to date, but also probably the best work they'll see this year. Virtually everyone has professed a wish for Graf Geisha, and if not they're holding out for the images of T&T2.
Sorry Opus, I'd like to apologise for how this thread turned out (I didn't mean that to sound like I'm speaking for others ... and I'm sure 99.9% of everyone on here would like to do the same. I know you said you showed Hush what has already been said... but perhaps if you show him that there are genuine fans who really appreciate his communication and love his work he might reconsider!
Mmmm a very annoyed AP will be logging off just to calm down .

Rubbish I was looking forward to seeing more from both yourself and Hush, if you want to let a few people dictate and spoil it for everyone else then so be it.

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by giiiant on May 19, 2008 12:21:39 GMT 1, WTF at the Hush fanboys
Jam's accusations were certainly not baseless and most definitely needed to be brought to light (though admittedly the timing is a bit unfortunate)
Leaving at the first sign of trouble makes me assume the worst despite there being plenty of potential reasons for matching IP's

Both incredibly talented artists working really hard to put on a great show which fingers crossed will blow your socks off! ;D
I can honestly say i'm not a computer expert but I do know that one of the people acused of having the same IP as Hush has bought from Opus and lives on the other side of the country???
But anyway if your looking forward to the show I look forward to meeting you there and if not thats fair enough it's your opinion.
See you all on the 29th ;D

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by aginghippie on May 19, 2008 13:33:02 GMT 1, I have no axe to grind here, I really like the prints and can't see any reason for "insider" hyping of the work. However I would like to see an explanation for the shared ip address... Duplicate IP addresses happen all the time on ADSL. There is a small pool of addresses relative to the number of users so inevitably apparently shared addresses crop up, this is particularly true of they live in the same region. I run a forum on an unrelated topic and we often see these, it is the reason you cannot safely ban users based on IP address. There are cases where it is probable that the collision is real and these are cable broadband and businesses (make sure the business isn't using ADSL though). It is possible to get static addresses on ADSL but these are the exception. The other case is a sequence of posts close together in time (a couple of minutes) with one poster straddling the other.
Now to business - if anyone gets a GG and decides on reflection that it isn't for them please contact me.

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by mcnuts on May 19, 2008 14:43:52 GMT 1, Another very sad day for the forum. Well done to the small number of idiots who've spoiled things for everyone again.
i'm sorry has someone died? Did i miss that? Or is it that someone, who probably makes a pretty penny from the regulars on this site packed up his toys and went home. Seems like a total light weight thing to do and people just add to this drivel (i'm not any better). But come on. Hush will be back or his stuff will still be talked up and sold via this forum. I'm sure he enjoys all the talking up and respect and it can help him earn more cash by driving up his prices either naturally or with a little bump. (so 'hello hush' as i'm sure you're still reading, especially this thread - this site is like a car crash)
Now besides a lament it'd be nice to have a bit of discussion on the merits of the work as well. It seems people got pissed off at jam for suggesting a practice which is known to exist and well documented. Sure, further evidence could be produced but I have no doubt the act exists.
As for Hush, where's the discussion beyond "sick print" on the work? Why not just say "great tits!". Again, the technique is there but there are factories full of artists in china churning our perfect monets and Van Goughs. For those that call me a hater, what is it about Hush that makes his stuff standout beside the fact it is an affordable Faile-esque work? I mean I am sure Faile are flattered as the saying goes but beyond that what is new, innovative, am I missing something?

Keep going all of you, no doubt things like this will fuel Silky even further to close the forum down!
Again, not pointing any fingers anywhere because I don't know, but I hope Jam is proved to be incorrect, it's a hell of an accusation.
No further comments on this thread from me!
Keep up the good work Copyright, looking the bollocks mate!

I for one concur with mcnuts here.. I myself am guilty of 'buffing up' the artist, when in fact, I really think I ought to discuss the work.. art forum with no discussion turns into forum about quids and other such bollox..
queue the pain..

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by jam on May 19, 2008 21:02:08 GMT 1, I knew when I posted my comments that it would aggravate some. However, since this is a public forum which members use not just for entertainment but also for research and keeping up with what is happening on the 'street art scene', any questionable goings on also need to be brought to light. We really need to stop and consider the sources or possible sources that are posting 'information' and comments related to an artist before shelling out money for their work. That is becoming nearly impossible to do on this forum when you've got threads about everyone that is flavor of the month being manipulated in some manner by those with a monetary stake in the artist's future... whether they are 'investors', galleries, or the artists themselves. Top that off with people hyping stuff they own, stuff they are hoping to sell, or stuff they are producing, and it destroys the integrity of the forum and, worse, the credibility of this genre of art. Understandably, there are many people rushing to defend Hush that may be annoyed or angered by my earlier post because they own his work and want to protect their 'investment'. One is a gallery representing the artist for god's sake. This is not a paranoid conspiracy theory as much as it is a warning to everyone to consider the source of information (bias or not) and hype you read before you spend your cash. Most of you will agree that the chatter on the forum can influence artists' prices and markets. Some measure of caution is therefore needed since this forum can easily be, and has easily been, exploited by those who take its members for fools. Silky... can you confirm whether Hush's IP address corresponds to that of any other username on this forum? I understand the nature of IP addresses, but the common IP addresses coupled with the timing of posts and a common Hush interest is questionable to say the least.

Jam you are clearly not a fan of Hush's work from the tone and the malicious nature of your post but I would request you do a little more research before throwing about accusations! Now lets get back to the art and away from the cloak and dagger! A
In order not to cause embarrassment to any individuals I will choose my words very carefully, but I can say with 100% accuracy that Hush's IP has posted under more than 1 user name on the forums. I could go a bit further but choose not to in order to avoid another round of bitter mud slinging.
I will however insist that Jam does not have a malicious nature and I would also suggest that before telling him to do some research before he posts, you may want to double check with one of your artists before you provide such advice to this sound forum member.
As for the art, well I don't think you can dispute Hush's ability to capture an image but his work lacks innovation and offers nothing that hasn't already been done.
What a load of rubbish to wake up to on a Monday morning I have personally spoken to two of these members in the past and neither is Hush! I have also spoken with Hush this morning and he is very disappointed by the way a minority have tried to tarnish a very positive thread. He also no longer plans to use the forums which in the long run is a bad thing for everyone. Neither do I.
In Hush's place, I too would leave the forum. From embarrassment and pure shame after having been caught out.
It would also mean that I wouldn't have to answer any awkward questions from other forum members about bigging myself up with multiple usernames.

Copyright / Hush Prints - May 29th, by pezlow on May 20, 2008 8:19:20 GMT 1, Whatever the rights and wrongs of this situation there are some forum members with an agenda - promoting their work and their gallery - and some who do not. Jam is one of the guys on here without an agenda. He is a genuine collector who loves this scene and has raised some genuine concerns about a crucial integrity issue. I can't see that these concerns have been answered.
I myself do have concerns about the way Hush threads on both this site and WK turn. When I made some comments on a previous hush thread about how I didn't like hush's work (whilst stating that hush personally seemed like a really nice guy and I wished him luck) I was immediately barricaded with aggressive posts and pm's from Hush fans having a go at me, the art that I liked, and making personal comments.
I'd like this site to be a place where opinions can be expressed, both positive and negative, about art and the artists. Increasingly however it seems that vested interests operate to drown out the voices of ordinary collectors.
