David Choe?, by oddkabob on Jan 13, 2008 0:15:44 GMT 1, Meh, this forum may have powers to sway flippers and followers who can help jack up or drop prices, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it can make or break artists. It may affect their print prices in the market but thats about it. Eventhough his prints may not be selling for double the original price anymore, Choe has just sold paintings for $55K and $45K. I don't think people spend that kind of dough on a painting because of what they've read on a forum. Choe's been around for long enough, has enough fans, and sold out his latest NYC show way before this forum even mentioned him. I think it has more to do with the recent image choices which weren't the best imo.
I have to agree, Choe is a really interesting artist and has been around, it's still interesting to see what he comes up with, and has definite long(er) term potential. I think people might be concerned about print prices because it affects their own "print portfolio". The temporary "flood" of releases might have the print market saturated in the present, but he'll probably still have fans (and new fans) 6 months, 1 year, several years from now who will want Choe prints. If LAZ and Levine are staking Choe, he'll probably be around for a while. So while there might be a lot of current print releases affecting the quick flippers, prices will eventually move up. I'm just hoping people will feel like releasing some of their Choes in the upcoming weeks/months for cheap on the bay so I can fill in some of the gaps. I will buy all your Choes at cost!

Fantastic, for starters go here
secure.ultracart.com/cgi-bin/UCEditor?MERCHANTID=OEDGE&ADD=FFG-CHOE
you can have these at cost cos they ain't sold out and levine and POW will have a bunch also for you so maybe you can get a trade discount.
secondly I have some prints that were list price Β£1050 dollars plus postage for a set of 3 prints. They are yours at cost
I have a couple of originals also that I will sell you well below 'show' value. Just PM me or email me and we'll work it all out.
You can even pay by Credit card. Looking forward to doing business with you

Where were they Β£1050? I dont think that was list price, I think that was POW price maybe.......
I dont remember what the original list price was, they were avail for a long time though. Im guessing POW marked them up hugely, just like they did with the Beautiful Losers prints that werent selling from Icono.
Just sayin.

David Choe?, by Francis on Jan 13, 2008 1:43:32 GMT 1, $1,050 USD was the list price...they were $350 each.
That is very shady and unscrupulous, Frankie. If you want to profit that much, don't lie and take advantage of others in order to do it.

Can't access the POW Choe page right now, but you can clearly see the prices on the Outer Edge Studio page (bottom 3 items):

he said he had the set of 3 for list price of 1050 pounds. That's basically what they cost, isn't it? I don't see the problem, or where the huge profit is being made....IMO

I'd be giving benefit of the doubt here.

1050 pounds is double the value of $1,050 US dollars.

No, you were right, he said pounds. But it may have been a typo, he may have meant dollars.

I was lucky enough to get one of the Sound Eyes prints (the first release) when they came out from Choe....got it home, and well, I was quite disappointed......so, I promptly got on here, and was able to trade it for a Josh Keyes print...which I love....and now I have the Choe print that I prefer (Grace)..... but yes, I would say be careful of Sound Eyes.....hand-finished, yes....but not a great image IMO

Β£1050 does not equal $1,050...so not OK

Ok, just to clarify for you francis, 350 DOLLARS multiplied by 3 = ONE THOUSAND AND FIFTY US DOLLARS. thats $1050, a thousand and fifty bucks. A bullseye more than a bag of sand.
Is that ok for you?

David Choe?, by oddkabob on Jan 13, 2008 7:22:35 GMT 1, Can you post which prints they are? I already have: Falling For Grace Driving Home (Diamonds, chocolate....) Sound Eyes Hoppers The 2 prints released by Upper Playground
So I guess that leaves: Hell Houndz City Girl City Girl 150 Pull My Scarf Hedz Bring, Bring Dyhumping RUles Drum Kit
Again, I'll purchse any (or all) of those that I don't have at the original price as sold by David Choe (no markups please). I'm totally serious about this, so I hoping (and guessing) you must have at least 1 of the prints on my want list
Thank you!!! looking forward to adding to my Choe collection.
