Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by mammal2 on Aug 29, 2008 21:56:31 GMT 1, Fuck it, im standing up for Cartrain. Never thought I would say it. If I am to be really truthful, I don't like Grafters work. I have been told he is a great guy, which is awesome, but what I love about Cartrain is that the boy gets up.s**t or whatever, he loves it, and bless him. Grafter can cut a serious stencil. The print being really excellent and fair bloody play. I just love the underdog. Plus Cartrain lives where i do, and my dad always said support your home team. Oi Oi. Just my opinion thats all. and if I meet you Grafter ill buy you a beer, but will prop never buy a print.

Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by Grafter on Aug 29, 2008 22:13:33 GMT 1, OK,Mr Train....
I think it's time for you to stop hijacking my thread in order to gain some attention. God knows you spent enough time riding the Big Guy's back, now get off of mine.
You started off by offering your opinion on my work and somehow have managed to spin it round to some kind of cockeyed "my stuffs better than yours" competition.
Why do you fell the need to prove yourself.? You seem confident in the stuff you produce, so just take comfort in the thought that you have pleased yourself, no matter how misguided that thought may be.
It's very comendable of you to want to raise funds for charity, even though you don't seem to have any particular cause in mind, so why don't you just donate the proceeds from your next relase anyway. Apparently you have no doubt that it will sell for a high price so you can't lose.
I myself am quite comfortable with my level of contribution to charity this past year, which has included a complete print release donated to a childrens' charity, a contribution to the pen and paper project fundraiser being run by Ruso, a donation to the Burma fundraiser run by Whatson, a whole heap of help and work given to The Cancer Sell show, numerous visits and donations of work to Matt Small/FPR's homeless arts project and contributing to the book for the Mercy Foundation appeal being run by Harveyn. I really don't feel I need to be judged by you my friend, but good luck anyway and let us know what the charity print looks like,...Who knows I might buy it myself.

Cartrain is more exciting and more out there. Grafter is dull and safe and after a career. Give me a C, Give me an A.......

big respect to tox, i love how up he is..its seriously unbelivable and even after being in prison he still writes tox. he doesnt have a style which doesnt bother me but the locations and the amount you see is impressive. he must be an addict. apprently he also knows the timetables for the trains better then the workers.

Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by mcster on Aug 30, 2008 9:12:29 GMT 1, Out of interest it was my suggestion they have a Charity 'paint off' - so if anyone thinks it's a bad idea it's me that should get it in the ear rather than either of these two.
I'm not going to back either over the other on this thread; I like the Grafter piece that he is selling here (I've seen it 'in the flesh' at Cans) and also think that if Cartrain really is in his teens that some of you should get off of the fellas back and let him get on with what he's doing without all the aggro....

If you feel the need to continue, it might be worthwhile for your respective professionalism (?) if you carried this on in private rather than provide even more reasons for the disrespectors to continue. Lol, and good luck with the new work. Think it's great unfortunately no spare cash at the moment! Well said....But he started it...

Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by baileymontana on Aug 30, 2008 11:11:19 GMT 1, The good thing about this thread is that two forum members have shown that it's important to be able to voice opinions without fear of being banned. As artists they were unlikely to be banned but the discussion has thrown up some interesting points.
This is the type of thread where you need Pimp and Bongo to sum up what's going on in a few sentences!
I like Cartrain as he does seem to get out on the street but personally haven't seen any of his work that I would buy. I like Grafter's work but the point made above that Grafter maybe does images in order to make them prints does seem valid (especially in the context of recently reading the general discussion on Wall Candy "Street Art Or Advertising").
But the sun's shining so I'm going out to see the real world!

Grafter calls Cartrain a "useless cunt" [Not the most constructive of comments] in October 2007 and nearly a year later Cartrain answers back.
Now that is delayed reactions!
Anyway, never mind the playground let's see your work. You got any recent stuff to show us Cartrain?
Grafter, finally got my Wish Upon a Star framed today and it is top banana. Cheers matey!....

Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by stuey09 on Aug 30, 2008 16:42:14 GMT 1, Here's an idea of how to sort problems between artists (not just these two) - each do a piece and auction it for Charity via the forum, highest selling piece means the winner comes away with all bragging rights, Charity comes away with some cash and two forum member get a new piece....As long as both agree to stop squabbling afterwards. Anytime, sounds like a great idea If Grafter is putting up puddle duckling under the banner of ART im well prepared to take up this gauntlet MY MONEYS ON ME
Sounds a shyte idea to me. You're supposed to be a street artist. Instead of knocking out charity pieces and agreeing to partake in stupid competitions wouldn't it make more sense to concentrate on developing your street work?

Grafter - 'Splash' Paper edition release, by BK83 on Aug 30, 2008 17:47:27 GMT 1, Why is it that when Grafter has a new release, there seems to be some sort of controversy as to his legitimacy as an artist? Is it clever marketing or serious debate?
Grafter's stuff is great, and most people on here like his work judging by the comments. Can't we let this thread rest...?
