Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by Fred Quimby Fan on Aug 3, 2014 12:53:27 GMT 1, Thats what PC have said about these pieces, they acknowledge they are real and by banksy, but just wont give COA's for them. While other images/prints were created for commercial sale, and if any were gifted, then a CoA can be given, these prints were not ever created for commercial sale. People who were lucky enough to collect one of these gifted prints after the Cans Festival was over, were told by POW that these were not for resale - PCO back that up by not certifying them, hence making it more difficult to sell.
De facto - these are extremely rare prints De jure - no PCO COA means less willing buyers, even though this is a Banksy rare signed print, and personalised.
Either way you look at it, a nice thing to own, and in my opinion, much more commercial and better finished than those recent AP heart balloon prints he put out at the beginning of the year.

Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by Agent Provocateur on Sept 2, 2014 14:18:53 GMT 1, There was also this poster from Cans Festival... not ever seen another one like this - does anyone know the background to it as well?
Always slightly very jealous when I see your Cans poster charlie I've only got the normal version!
The closest thing I have is this multi-page A4 press release for the festival... has anyone else seen/got one of these?
Cans Festival 08 (press release) by By Royal Disappointment, on Flickr
The guy I got it off said "These were available from the 'Ice cream van' at the entrance to the Cans Festival on the first day of the festival. Details confirmed artists with a short biography on each, Rules of engagement but does not specify the exact location of the festival (these were probably distributed to some of the press before the opening)."
Anyways... if you ever want to part with the poster let me know

Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by johnnyh on Sept 2, 2014 15:07:11 GMT 1, No idea on this piece as not looked or seen it but would suggest the further they get away from the original owner. The less you actually know the seller the more likely they are to be fake.
Think people should be really careful with these and them being sold on eBay etc etc

Yes I am the owner of the piece, yes I bought it from the original, and no you cant buy it for a bargain. Heres a bit of fact for you to chew on, there has never been a fake Rodeo Girl sold or offered on ebay
Speak in factual terms rather than trying to scare ppl away from any piece you have no clue about!!

The points of my post are true and are a general safeguard to people and my opinion which as far as I see I am fully entitled to express.
So my points are factual and just saying as it is. As say make no reference to the legitimacy of your piece either positive or negative. I have not read your ad or details so have been fair enough. But provenance can be faked as well...and at around 10k I think someone mentioned I am sure there are people who would do it.
"There's never been a fake Rodeo girl sold or offered on eBay"......how indeed would anyone know as Pest Control don't confirm or deny the pieces or certify them.
Ps If I wanted a clue about the piece I would look it up but have no interest in the piece mainly for the points mentioned in my post. So sorry if it upsets your sale but I think my posts are accurate.

Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by Deleted on Sept 3, 2014 7:23:54 GMT 1, Having a right to express an opinion doesnt make anything you say as factual. JohnnyH you seriously know f**k all about this piece or any others before it - so I would suggest you stop 'expressing your opinion' about it. Just because the piece doesnt have a CoA doesnt make it fake, you seem too hung up on that one piece of paper that in your opinion seems to make everything alright. I know lots of people who have been collecting Banksy's who dont have COA's for their works, and I would still buy from them, simply because of the "provenance". Fyi its no longer for sale, and PCO did confirm the piece, they just wont give a COA for it - see what I did there?? So run along and go kick some other tyres.

Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by johnnyh on Sept 3, 2014 7:45:10 GMT 1, Ha ha ha Joe your just bitter because you can't sell this piece.
I have never said it was or wasn't fake that's why you can't sell it is a lot of people don't want to buy what they don't know is real or ain't real. I haven't actually said anything specific about your piece other than I didn't bother to look it up.
Also worth noting this piece could have had a COA if the original owner asked for one. It just cannot be transferred as I understand with gift prints. Now you who is sooooo knowledgeable I assume knew that last year when you bought it. If you bought it from the original owner why didn't you ask them to get a COA. May be that's covered in your ebay pitch no idea haven't looked and don't care.
but I tell you what I bet PC did not confirm it's real...I would very much doubt that. They will have sent you a general email that you claim they are saying it's real but I bet it does not confirm it's real. So while on the subject of being factual sorry mate that ain't true.
But which bit of my original post is not factual???
I be just looked up on here you tried to flog it before a couple of weeks ágo and no one wanted it then. So probably the same reasons. You can call me a tyre kicker if that's what you want to. Think I have only ever inquired about one of your pieces...when you sent pictures of the piece it looked a bit of a disaster and I already had a better version now if that makes me a tyre kicker then fine.
So not sure what tyres I kick.
Remember who said this???
Provenance is documented history, authentication is if you want to sell it - thats the banksy market.

Banksy • Rodeo Girl • GIFT Print, by Deleted on Sept 3, 2014 11:24:00 GMT 1, PC does confirm whether if it's genuine The gift print was never for sale for £5. The poster was sale for £5. Does PC actually confirm an specific individual piece is authentic or do they just confirm they exist. Seems strange if they individually confirm authenticity considering they were never supposed to be sold commercially and lets face it the only reason anyone would want specific confirmation to one is to legitimise its value for a sale. The thing with PC coa is it makes it difficult to fake, receipts etc are as easy to fake as prints, so are most coas tbh which is why the ripped tenner(sort of replicating the old deeds to a house) is such an important part of aunthenticating Banksys, without it there'd be a crazy amount of fakes! Buying from a reputable source like ex pow employee is great but the issue comes when its been sold a few times and then the story becomes I bought from a guy who bought it from a guy who bought it from an ex pow employee, gets a bit sketchy. I too thought anything gifted would get a coa if the original receiver applied for one but maybe different in this case? Its a great piece just trying to learn for future reference

individual yes.
I dont think anyone will recieve a coa for this print. some prints were given away as payment for help - hence why they were gifted a coa - banksy decides specifically on each piece.
would be interested if anyone could prove me wrong and have been gifted a coa?
one of my favourite banksy images/events
