Oliver Winconek π¬π§ Portrait Artist β’ Oil Paintings , by giiiant on Sept 3, 2008 16:55:37 GMT 1, its got some nice elements (glass crack looks decent, pattern breaking through the jeans is cool) but the face needs a bit more detail and some of the shades used are just ugly and distracting (particularly the darker hand/top of the forehead)
just a few tweaks away from being excellent in my opinion, props on asking for criticism rather than going ahead and selling it for Β£500 edition of 10 without even trying to improve as an artist

Thanks, sadly due to my inability with cameras the photo doesn't really do it justice, the shades of green haven't exactly come out in the photo as I wanted (It was a nightmare taking a photo due to the reflectiveness of the glass. The face does have more detail but it is hard to make out from the photo.
I am always keen to push myself and move on to the next thing, this is why 95% of the work I do are unique, one offs. I don't really feel comfortable producing big runs of the same thing, I just feel in a way it cheats the public a bit.

Oliver Winconek π¬π§ Portrait Artist β’ Oil Paintings , by Happy Shopper on Sept 30, 2008 22:00:56 GMT 1, Looks a bit like the explosion's out of the woman's head. I'd probably shift it to the right, so it's between them.
Like it though !

Yeah I did think that myself after I had done it! I might add some more flying debris etc from the ground behind to stop it looking like the old woman is about to combust!

It certainly makes life a lot easier when you walk round the corner and the perfect scene is in front of you (minus the explosion obviously!)

Cheers Carlito, I appreciate that. Nuclear war isn't really the main subject though, it was just the loudest thing I could think of!
