As consolation to anyone who missed out FYI the price of Kaws Chums on ebay has dropped recently as there is a sudden abundance of the clear, yellow and white Chums on ebay. Seems as though a toy store in HK or somewhere over there found some deadstock and released them to the public for about $200, and the public in turn released them to ebay. It's legit from everything I've seen. They're a limited edition of 500 to 1000 I think depending on the color. Scored a colored one recently for $550, (not digging the clear) think they used to go for closer to about $800-1000 depending on color/edition size.

I expect the price will start to creep back up in about a month as soon as all the flippers have flipped. There couldn't have been all that many. And the Chums are my favorite characters by Kaws by far.

Have to agree! Got a white one off ebay last week and they're 100% legit. Best thing was that it was *mint* - never even taken out of the bag after 7 years.

Great time to buy some chums before prices rise again.

This is an awesome release, I read somewhere 3yrs in development ! Is there definately 2 finishes ? Could just be lighting of different pictures?

Yes, there is at least a silver chrome version, and I read somewhere that there was a white version too. The latter isn't confirmed though.

^^ Ha ha, true, it's all a bit silly. Funny how warped you can get about the cost of things, after rumors that this would retail for as much as $2k, I saw the $960 price tag and thought wow, what a deal! After a day to think about it, that's a lot of dosh for a toy. I'm not too upset that I'm not another grand in debt now.

Weren't just about all companions ever made editions of 500 in multiple colorways?....these are on the same lines....I would have expected about 3 colorways on this....don't think it detracts a bit.

black/chrome was current release, will be a chrome/chrome, and havent heard of the other colorway. No timing when the next is released either. Def think the black/chrome is the nicest

Yeah, exactly, these are on the same lines, I was thinking this would be a bit more unique. It certainly would be more special if there weren't 1500 units produced and it's not exactly cheap. Kaws will rake in 1.5 million dollars from this if there are 3 variations, that's what's sick. I like the piece it's just a little tiresome how everyone milks everything for colorways, versions.
