Banksy Bristol City Museum Show, by fattyramone on Feb 9, 2015 0:41:48 GMT 1, Quick question to those who know ....
Were the statues items/exhibits items that Banksy bought in already modified or were they genuine Bristol museum statue exhibits that were "allowed" to be temporarily Banksified by the powers-that-be for the purpose of the show?

Banksy Bristol City Museum Show, by kaceyoneill on Feb 9, 2015 10:42:12 GMT 1, I was the person who took the photos in this thread back in 2009. It was third time lucky getting in due to hours of queuing and on the last day where I only had just over an hour to see the exhibits. It was well worth seeing although ideally I would have liked to have spent a bit more time there. The exhibition was packed with people and my camera ran out of battery and the last few photos were taken on my mobile phone. You were allowed to take photos but no flash. All exhibits were original works by Banksy. The photos themselves have been on my web page for quite sometime now and never used elsewhere until Fed saw them and asked permission if they could be posted to this forum which I said yes to and he posted them online. Glad to know forum members like them (even though a couple or so are not as clear as they could be but it was a packed museum). Thank you.
The statue with a paint pot on it's head remains a permanent exhibit at the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery as Banksy gifted it to Bristol. It remains in the main entrance hall to the museum where it was originally placed.

Otherwise why bother insuring the exhibits?

...and / or replacement value.
Every exhibit has to be insured, it's policy, even the policy.
probably..
