It would probably cost me more jetting into London from this rock than for you guys in New york!, in fairness, I could have travelled for free by trawler, but it would of meant a week at sea and turning up at the art fair smelling like a fucking kipper!

yer people who work i feel so sorry
Interesting social conundrum isn't it?
With rising unemployment those who have no job can afford the time to queue to buy. They can't afford to buy to keep however. So they buy to sell. Meanwhile those of us with jobs can't afford to spend the time to queue. We can afford to buy to keep however. Can we afford the inflated prices of those with no job? Not I. Meanwhile those with no job will sell the art. They now have no job but do have money. They no longer need to get a job.
Am I wrong in suggesting that BRP is causing the unemployment in this country?
(tongue in cheek to an extent)

My thoughts on this ebay glut earlier in the thread.

Fingers crossed BRP manage to ruin a couple of these, get the details and cancel the orders. Maybe even a few more left for the lucky lottery winners!

Nick Walker • The Empire's State, by flippersrus on Jan 19, 2009 11:38:42 GMT 1, Why does everyone presume those with a job only work Monday to Friday days and cannot take time off? If you can buy something and legally sell it the for triple the price then is it really suprising that 14 are on ebay, I am suprised there are not more. The only way to stop it is to charge more at source for the print.

Cheers silvermyn, I've just read somewhere that this print is 3 feet tall, does anyone know if this is the case as most houses over here are barely that tall!, I may have to display it in the garden if I manage to get one.... (anyone know where I can buy an outdoor frame?)

Sadly true, and the crux of the problem! Somewhere in BRPs TandC they say that they dont like people selling the prints before they have even received it themselves. On that grounds these orders should be cancelled! Hopefully then a few more can make it onto walls at cost prices.
Are the real fans being priced out of this entirely?

THE CREDIT CRUNCH MONSTER

Nick Walker • The Empire's State, by welshboy on Jan 19, 2009 13:26:50 GMT 1, It is simple for BRP to place a bid on a listing, then go to ebay site map and find the sellers details. Ebay will send them a email with the sellers name, address and phone number.
Then retract the bid(entered wrong amount).
In the case of BIN price, just buy the print, then email the seller telling them that you are BRP and the order has been cancelled.
BRP won`t have to pay for something the seller doe`s not have!
Hope this help`s Mike if your reading this! Cancel the order, refund the monie`s paid and relist on the BRP website for some one else !

What makes you think its their eBay account, chances are they are the sellers friends/familys account.

Nick Walker • The Empire's State, by Happy Shopper on Jan 19, 2009 13:51:30 GMT 1, BRP could ask the seller for the buyers name, or print number (easier), for authenticity... then cancel their order.
What puzzles me about Nick's prices on ebay is the difference between the TMA series and other prints. Is there a hype around these which could fade away long term? You can get a Ratatouille (ed. 95) for £550! Much nicer IMO.

Nick Walker • The Empire's State, by dh on Jan 19, 2009 14:13:29 GMT 1, In my opinion Nick's TMA series blows the rest of his prints away (except V for Vandal which is my favourite), the only one I do not like is Hollywood. Ratatouille is a great street piece but for me does not work as a print.
