Now I would have agreed with you last week but I don't anymore. After looking at the neate prints framed up, Mainly Skanky's ones. although very nice, the Neat portrait prints are nothing more than very very good portraits to me, they don't say or have a meaning IMO (Not sure what I'm trying to get at but I'm sure someone will..) Now take Deep or Cold War for instance, It has a real presence about it. Not saying I wouldn't love the portraits because I would but.....Just waffling now.. I will get my coat

Having lived with the portraits up for nearly a week now I would have to say that they overshadow all my other pieces. They have so much presence in the room and the red one in particular seems to draw you in every time it catches your eye, I love em. I can see what you are getting at ABC as it has no real message behind it, but for me its good to have something different that just gets you. I am finding more and more that Neates work in general is overshadowing the rest of my collection . Now im waffling !

Goggles, she's swimming or just about to dive. If you look at the print carefully you will notice that choe has included many of his favorite images throughout the piece. Its the ultimate celebration of his work so far.

I thought they were eye patches like they give you on planes to help you sleep. I thought she was sleeping and everything that's coming out of her head is what she dreaming/thinking about.

Yeah I think your right ... 'Itβs CITY GIRL , sheβs from a small town anywhere U.S.A. and dreams of life in the big city'. Thats regarding city girl 76 anyway. Although on 150 it looks more like googles and water and rubber rings and desert islands.

David Choe Opinions?, by sausageboonwee on Sept 1, 2007 13:29:48 GMT 1, No doubting it is a fine piece of art. Funny, I thought it was ok until I saw it framed which made me realise how great it is. Framing is so vital. I never used to think much of Money Queen until I saw one in a frame which made it look fantastic. I've never commented on this forum but sometimes (and this is only my opinion) there have been freshly framed pieces shown which have pretty much killed the image. I wouldn't be so impolite to say anything!

How about an award for the most confrontational and caustic forum member even on a good day? Actually we could have a few forum awards, saying that CBL will get to take most them home.

Just scan the artfortruth thread. Think that was quite a brutal selection. Y' might need to recall Tom to collect this award however.
