Hi, thanks for that. Any thoughts on a fair price?
The print that you mentioned above fetched $3500. That's the colour variant though.

I wish I could find a pic of it. I'm also interested to buy back and also the other Bast mickey where he's a scout with a gun.

Each one is heavily hand finished to a varying degree so the editions don't really matter.

The print that you mentioned above fetched $3500. That's the colour variant though. I know there's a bit of a rush to buy his work right now, but a jump from (probably) around $600 a few weeks ago, to $3500 seems a bit nuts.
Lovely print though... and I regret selling a few of my Bast prints a couple of year ago!!

I've had Limonata on my want list for some time but didn't really feel the urgency as there were three sitting on Ebay for months without any takers. I figured I'd put a feeler out on the board when the time was right to see if there was one in someone's flat file that they'd be willing to let go and revert to Ebay if that didn't pan out. Then the terrible news of his passing broke and the three that were sitting on Ebay (and pretty much everything else of his) disappeared within hours. Still regret not pulling the trigger on one that didn't find any takers on here at $500 USD about 2 years back and ended up selling for that by the same person via Ebay. At this point it'll just be another one that will end up on the 'pieces that got away' list.

Bast • Mickey Print , by avec art on May 13, 2021 22:06:59 GMT 1, No mine is not framed blurp , but it will be eventually. Normally I like float mounting, but in this case that's not going to be necessary as Bast created an internal frame for it in a way. So just box framed with spacers will do the job well.
A wood frame with white paint roughly painted on it, in a similar way to the print might be good. I love how Bast threw out rulebook and that uniqueness really shines through.

Giving benefit of the doubt is not needed here ,Missing the point of greed? In celebrating a death to gain financial gain ? Poor taste ? Horrid, although this used to be the formula for an artists gain a century ago Matthew Wong had autism and was a troubled soul

I read that post as being deliberately coarse. And heartless, which is all the more reprehensible.
It also strikes me as cowardly — the kind of comment a troll might type, but only when shielded by anonymity. Whether because of shame or for reasons of self-interest, they wouldn't say the same thing aloud in the presence of others.
__________
We all have our own views as to what constitutes a reasonable decency period, especially following an untimely death.
Leaving aside charitable and other altruistic endeavours, my position is that any sale of work by an artist that is initiated within a month or so of their passing is insensitive, if not opportunistically crass. Likewise when it comes to engaging in discussions about the market of a recently-deceased artist.
[If I had doubts about the appropriateness of my behaviour in this situation, I'd ask myself the following: What would I feel comfortable doing or saying in front of the family and friends of someone who had just died?
Now, if it was quite likely that one or more of those family members and friends were visitors of this forum, I'd wish to show the same level of respect for their loss when posting here.]

Here and there some increase their prices and sell, others regret having sold their Bast silkscreen earlier - why today and not yesterday? etc., etc
Let's not play the hypocrites, Bast for me is still alive also through Paul Insect ( even if Bast artwxorks are Bast artworks ), they are inseparable, and complement each other.
