Maybe I'm missing something but this afternoon "at work" I noticed a (longish) threat pointing out some issues people were having with LAZ and POW. Now I've got home I can't see the thread anywhere.

Sorry, but they have been removed.

After a little investigating it was found that a bit of underhand backstabbing was going on I dunt think it would be fair to say much more than that, but I assure you that if you knew the full story you would completely agree with its removal

whilst i have problems with some of the things PoW have done recently those threads were obviously extremley negetive & pointed

i missed all this and i'm intrigued. is this an example of the big boys flexing their muscles? or were there some highly libelous comments that could not be substantiated. obviously you can't repeat what was said or else we'll be back to where we were, but if someone could perhaps say why they think the thread was removed it might make sense.

Silky, I read all the thread and all that was written was a combination of posts that suggested LAZ is preocupied with making money and that POW are failing its cutomers because of disinformation and high prices for some poor pieces of art. Also the thread was making suggestions of better art outlets available including homeless art auctions. It seems that freedom of speach does not exist on Banksy's own web site.

Thats all fine, but its really about who were making the comments and the motives

i didn't read it but i can guess what occurred, reading between the lines. not as much what was said but by whom.

The whole thread seemed to go quite mad, very quickly. And worse of all, it wasn't just expressing opinion but at times it was nasty. It was a certainly a strange one.

There seemed to be quite a few negative comments over the last few days about dealers and personalities connected with galleries. Given that I live in the north east I am quite detached from all of this (thankfully). However, it didn't make for good reading and created a bit of a bad vibe. Personally I'm looking forward to the release of Modern Tarot Cards and some other exciting work, which will help maintain this site to what it does best, and that is discussing some sh*t hot art

Yeah. I think we'll get a good couple of minutes before the sold out sign goes up. Call me pessimistic, but there will be plenty of scalpers waiting in the wings for this print to go on sale and I just hope the people that buy the print do so for the right reasons

I've been hunting for images of his work and asked Jon @ SoS and beejoir for pics and I've found none. If like the Turin Scam the pic will be posted for weeks or at least days before the sale (I hope) as for baggers I hope they don't get involved, they shouldn't, it's unproven ground and SoS deserve much more respect.

It is funny though that anything that cuts a little too close to Banksy/Laz gets pulled. remember the Banksy pictures thread got pulled as well recently....

Not having a go at all -- just find it interesting and maybe Laz, POW and/or Banksy have more to do with this forum than we think......

Nah! If this forum was under any control by Banksy or Laz would we have an advert for BlackRatPress or CNPD? I dunt think so all the forums are run totally independent from the artists and galleries and thats how it will always be ;D

I s'pose when you get large sums of money involved you're always going to get a bit of naughtiness. I think that the one area that everything needs to be improved is customer service by you know who. It doesn't take much effort.

On a completely separate note (well almost) the Faile show is one of the best collections from one artist(s) in one gallery that I have ever seen. The amount of work in some of the pieces, particularly the designed crates/boxes is amazing, I think some credit has to go to Mr Laz for bringing that show to London.

While the post may have been stated by an agenda, there seemed to be alot of back up on the comments, I personally think the post should have stayed, give the back-up it received, agenda and all.

We can see through agendas, we can also see through galleries protecting their pitch by getting negative slides pulled.

I fully agree. some of the comments made by campbarbara were out of line, but the comments of the many other people deserve to be heard.
I must say that I have also found the staff of Lazinc to be at best nonchalent, and at worst utterly useless.

I know, I know, but it was a tough one to call I also agreed with many of the points raised on the thread

At the end of the day this is Silky's forum (not a truly free/public one) and he has the right to make these determinations. If he believes it was best to delete the post - my guess is he probably gave it a lot of thought and most likely made the right decision.

I for one am a big fan of the layout (except the bad background - zing! ), organization, and informatoin on this forum and am thankful for all of Silky's hard work.
