jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by snausages on Oct 7, 2008 14:30:46 GMT 1, also to that sausages bloke...thats what dictates the price of anything at auction.....how many people want it.... Well congratulations.
But if you were the bidder it's interesting to know that since the other guy'd no longer be in the bidding for one of these prints and another came up it would sell for £1140 not over £3000. And I still find it odd that a 'collector' would decide to make his first purchase on ebay be a very expensive Parla print, an artist who usually isn't a 'gateway' drug into collecting.
I still see fishy all over this and even if not a seller so many other Parla fanatics seemed to have such a strong and vested interest in making sure that this print sold for a lot of money. I'll still never know what happened, no matter what I read on an internet forum. I'll just leave it at that.

I AM bidder 8, i wanted that print but it got too expensive because the winner was prepared to pay more than me. Right now, i'm glad i lost cos i have been offered the same for less money since it finished....( supply and demand) You know nothing about me....i'm not a huge collector, but i have cash lying around with which to speculate....thats all mate. As for ebay......i bought a jumper from m+s, and a couple of spare parts for my vespa...Now i live in asia and haven't bought owt off ebay for 2 or 3 years.... thats prob why my rating is quite low So it would seem that once again your are proving yourself to be a bit of a silly sausage

FAKE AUCTION TO CREATE AN ARTIFICIAL PRICE, "SOMEBODY ELSE" OFFERS YOU ONE CHEAPER THAN THE B$ ONE AND THE SUCKER THINKS HES GETTING A GOOD DEAL. IF THIS IS YOU THEN AS I SAID WHAT CAN I SAY? OR MAYBE YOURE JUST A "FRIEND" OF THE SELLER? WHATEVER THE CASE THE LAST LEGIT BID WAS FOR THE 1000gbp. ANY NON BIASED FOLLOWER OF THIS SCENE KNOWS - given that he has half a brain.

Your right, it could be fixed but if so i'm bloody glad i didn't win. What is fact though is that PARLA is V V V hard to come by. The closest i have come is this ebay auction....if you think it's overpriced ..well thats up to you. My mates thought my orignal BANKSY canvas i bought 7 years ago was overpriced at 2k.......who's dumb.... thats the way it goes .... I was willing to pay 3k for that print cos i reckon it could be a worth a few quid in a few years, but if its not then in doesn't matter cos i got a PARLA..... right now i will be watching those auctions next week and hopefully i can p,p,p,p,p, pick up a PARLA.

jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by snausages on Oct 7, 2008 21:30:08 GMT 1, I AM bidder 8, i wanted that print but it got too expensive because the winner was prepared to pay more than me. What confuses me is that you aren't concerned about it all yourself. If it weren't for some mysterious zero feedback winner you would have been able to buy the print at £1200 and save yourself £1800.
...this zero feedback bidder with no ebay experience who also allegedly is going to show up in new york carrying around over $6000 cash to buy a small parla print.
Look I'm sorry if this is all legit but if you step back and look at it there are a number of questionable circumstances around this auction that raise quite a bit of suspicion. Perhaps it is coincidence. My apologies if so.
No sh*t you've been offered another print. If I had one of these prints I'd hound you non stop until I got that £3000 out of you too.
I'm not attacking you mate. But don't you worry that now that this timjohn(0) is out of the market for one of these that the value would probably be much lower?

jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by ricosg11 on Oct 7, 2008 22:29:02 GMT 1, snausages - you truly are a miserable person. You question my integrity, try to sabotage the sale by injecting so much negativity, and come up with conspiracy theories regarding the auction. I made a .99 auction and let the market decide where it went. There are no 'questionable circumstances' as you refer to. It's just you spoting off with absolutely no facts. I believe the buyer to be legit as I've had multiple contact with him. In the rare case he is not legit, I will either:
- keep my print - auction it again - or do a deal with the 2nd highest bidder
Youre welcome.

jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by snausages on Oct 7, 2008 23:02:07 GMT 1, Sorry Rico, but a zero feedback bidder bidding a print (whose value is under intense scrutiny) to astronomical heights is not a 'conspiracy theory' it's a questionable situation plain and simple. And I'm not the only one who has expressed this concern.
Call me what you want, as I said before if it's all legit my apologies. Plus I'm not necessarily implying you did it but possibly a third party with ulterior motives? (Such as the person who soon after the auction offered natty a print) And again maybe timjohn(0) is very real and sincere?
But if you don't like such public scrutiny the answer is simple. Do your dealings in private.
And if you are going to meet this person for real, be careful and good luck.

If you are not doing that then you are going around telling everyone they don't know what they are doing. Is this really necessary ? You seem like an intelligent bloke but you are intent on winding everyone up. I am sure you will come back with some comment saying that you think you are doing the right thing but in this instance you have no proof what so ever. Why not try and give some positive input for a change ?

And unlike others ('al's bladder' just for one example ) I think my posts have been for the most part civilized and straightforward about my concerns.
Anyway, I said something positive just last night! I think the Kaws show was pretty tight (even though I personally don't want a pic of spongebob or papa smurf on my wall) I still think the show was pretty sweet and I'm not even a big Kaws fan.

jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by ricosg11 on Oct 8, 2008 0:25:33 GMT 1, listen I understand where youre coming from. I am very skeptical about ebay myself, but I dont sell things often which is clear from my feedback, and when I do the buyers are always satisfied which is also very clear from my feedback. With only 20 of these floating around I doubt highly that there is much vested interest, and anyone with his paintings could give a shit what these prints sell for. They know how special what they have is, and that print sales in no way affect high end originals.
What bothers me, is that people take what you say at face value and dont dig for themselves ( a major problem across every aspect of this very forum), and then look at me like some cheating, lying, flipper soley here to make money, when in reality that couldnt be further from the truth.
So while I can appreciate your concern, maybe a friendly pm first would be appropriate, instead of a tar and feathering.

jose parla pirate alphabet #3, by nattymatt on Oct 8, 2008 2:43:14 GMT 1, This 0 feedback bidder was the winner....right? TimJohn He put a huge max bid on which i had to beat....he didn't have any idea what i was gonna bid up to and i had no idea how high his max bid was untill i tried to beat it. It didn't go up in stages ...when i put a bid on at about £1100, his max bid was already at £2700. I could have walked away and all this would never of happened , but i wante3d to buy it for myself.. Like i said b4, i'm happy i didn't win it now as it looks like it could be too much, especially with others around. But the winner obviously wanted it so bad that he put a huge max bid in.... I really thought this print was gonna be a real battle to win and no way did i think i would have to beat such a high max bid so early...sure with 5 mins left...but not 6 hrs left in the auction. the people with other prints have offered me it at the same price as the winning bid...but no way now. Lets see what happens at the auctions...if i can pick one up cheaper great.... If someone bid this auction up , they did it against me....If i hadn't tried to buy this print then it would probably have sold for £1200 and their "upbidding" wouldn't have worked But i say again.....thats the whole point of an auction.
