Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by RBK on Aug 22, 2008 21:52:34 GMT 1, That seller is retarded if you ask me. He must really need the money fast - because that could easily get at a minimum of 6-8K at a bootleg auction house.

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by junkieart on Aug 22, 2008 22:00:27 GMT 1, I know times are bad but still thats got to be worth nearly 10K? I think the us where going for about 3.5k 12 months ago! Sold my WSM last year for 9K (was offered 12k by Andipa gallery but thought I'd do my business partner a deal, now feel quite bad) now not reaching 7K. This was one of my favs behind GWB whats happened? Thats a crap price but wish I had seen it would have ripped his arm off!!

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by RBK on Aug 22, 2008 22:09:14 GMT 1, Had I known the seller would have accepted that low an offer I would have bought it and sat on it as an investment - no joke.
Above I said a minimum of 6-8K. It could easily be 10K+ in a heartbeat. Congrats to whomever got it if you're one here.

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by snausages on Aug 22, 2008 22:37:14 GMT 1, And not only that, a year ago 4.5GBP would have been a tad over nine thousand us dollars, right now it would have only been about $8400! Finally the dollar is showing a tiny bit of strength. Sh•t! I would have bought it for $8400!!!

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by craigf on Aug 22, 2008 23:41:17 GMT 1, I was pretty surprised when I saw the £3.5k drop the seller was happy to accept from the original BIN. Barcode for Police kids money, unbelievable!

Why do you think that havana07?
The auction does state: "I will provide the purchaser with a complete and unquestionable provenance for this print. This will include the name in which the print is registered with POW, any receipts/paperwork plus a signed letter from myself detailing the history and provenance of the print."

Of course IF it's a fake, then the guy's done pretty well out of a "worthless" piece of paper, but I see no reason to doubt the authenticity, except the suspect price. Maybe the guy's desperation for cash got the better of him, perhaps it was a mistake of some kind (people do take drugs and drink and make questionable decisions at times), or maybe there's some stranger reason. Imo, taking this price for what looks to be the real deal is a less than smart move on the seller's part!

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by wodger on Aug 23, 2008 7:53:40 GMT 1, The only dumb asses are those that are moaning about the low price. If you feel so strongly why did you not bid and snag a bargain?

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 23, 2008 8:03:08 GMT 1, hahahaha - moaning? OK boss! He's one smart cookie selling for thousands of pounds below the recent sale prices of the same print. Yes sireee!
Someone bought a great product at a very very nice price. If it's legit, more fool all of us, the buyer has done extremely well and good luck to him. What's your problem Wodger, you miseryguts? ;D

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by wodger on Aug 23, 2008 14:30:42 GMT 1, I should think all those that have an appreciation of Banksy would be pleased that the over inflated price of his work of 12- 18 months ago has now dropped to a more realistic and affordable level. Thus giving people a better chance of owning a piece. It seems to me that you are more interested in the price of his work more than anything else

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 23, 2008 14:56:23 GMT 1, Barcode is my favourite Banksy image by a country mile. I hope it drops even further in price to be honest. I might even be able to afford one - I would sell lots of my favourite art for that priviledge of getting one - and have recently been thinking of going after an unsigned one actually. That doesn't detract from my incredulity that ANYTHING can sell one day for £13,000 and a couple of months later a seller of the same item would accept around a third of that! Greed doesn't come into it - if he/she'd put it up in an auction format with no reserve, do you honestly think it would have sold at that price? It strikes me as a case of very poor sale strategy.
Iwouldfollowyouanywhere - yeah maybe you're right - it's obviously greedy to want to get the market value for something one is selling, but it reads more like you don't really care what anyone thinks, you just couldn't miss an opportunity to say "I've been around longer than you and my collection is bigger and better." Maybe your knob is bigger than mine too, but I'm not bothered. I hope it brings you pleasure.
If the fact is lost on you guys that this seller has agreed a deal which stands out as very low in value, by comparison to others, then fair enough. If you don't think it's remarkable why are you posting comments on the thread? I stand by my comment that I think the seller's a silly bugger, I suppose this is because the amount of cash being discussed, may be more significant to me than some of you. Make no mistake, I would love to see these going for sub-£3k!
I look forward to your next judgement! Have a nice day!

Except those that bought 12-18 months ago who probably wouldn't be so pleased. The boundaries of "realistic and affordable" are different for everybody.

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 23, 2008 15:45:12 GMT 1, Agreed Spirit.
What's with these wankers that think they can look down their noses at others because they knew who Banksy was first anyway? It's as if they measure their value as a human being by how many prints are on the wall or what they're worth! This seems to go against the whole way of thinking Banksy is trying to promote through his art and his good deeds imo, in fact that's quite ironic, maybe he'll do an image of some cuunt surrounded by a complete collection of Banksy prints looking down on the rest of the world, all the smaller, inferior people below!

Banksy - Signed Barcode for 4.5K!, by alsbabar on Aug 29, 2008 11:09:03 GMT 1, ******** FAKE ALERT - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON ***********
Steer clear of buying from this guy, he sends out fake prints. I bought this guys B & W Trolley Hunters, but by mistake he sent out the Barcode - which is so fake its laughable. I have contacted POW, Ebay and the Police already. The barcode pictured on ebay, IS NOT the barcode print I received. Signature
So steer clear of Robert McGarry or a Jason Merrington or Robert Lampton - these are all the names used post purchase.
