D*Face Saddo POW edition, by bunnyboy on Nov 3, 2009 12:44:41 GMT 1, Hi all,
I have an orange Saddo for sale from the edition of 42. The wings are handsprayed. Unfortunately, there's a bit of damage on this one - please see photos:
- The piece was framed using acid free tape to attach the print to a mount on one edge. I had a professional framer remove the piece from the frame but there was still some damage to the reverse of the print. This can't be seen from the front.
- There's a ridge in one of the black screenprinted areas on the left shoulder. You can see it close up but it's not particularly noticeable when framed.
Given the damage, I'm taking offers on this - please PM. I'm London based and you're welcome to check out the print in person.

D*Face Saddo POW edition, by esfer on Nov 4, 2009 20:32:57 GMT 1, Helo all.
You should let that framer know of product called "Bestine Thinner". It removes adhesive from tape, stickers, anything almost really, temporarily, allowing you to remove the item from paper, plastic, metal..whatever. It can lve a residue at time, but it will not tear the piece or chaf it...then you can spend some time trying to remove the adhesive off the piece. It is completely amazing stuff. It goes on in liquid form, like terpentine or paint thinner, but it evaporates almost immediately and it has never caused damage to anything I have used it on. I use it all the time to remove stickers and tape. It takes practice to learn how to use it properly...but it is worth it. If you want tips, feel free to contact me.
I would think anybody in the framing business would know this alrady. I learned of it's use while in Graphic design school (back when we did things by hand without computers...I bet no modern day designers even know of this stuff).
For you parents out there, a can of this product can remove all the Elmo stickers off your inside car windows with no time spent scraping....:-)
I feel old.
Esfer
***Legal disclaimer. I have used this prodcut myself without incident. However, if you should choose to try it, please learn to use it on an area that is not effected by the adhesive or on an article that is worthless first so you can learn of it's properties before damaging your Warhol print! As I stated, I have used it on many surfaces, some of them pieces of original artwork, with great success, but I was trained to use it. Good luck.
Helo all.

Don't feel old - I'll bet all pro studios have a can of Bestine tucked away somewhere... haven't seen the brayer or waxer in a while though!

D*Face Saddo POW edition, by bunnyboy on Nov 8, 2009 13:49:02 GMT 1, If anyone is interested in this at £150 plus shipping, please PM. If you're not happy that the damage is as described when you receive it, I'll accept returns (as long as it's in the condition in which I sent it and the buyer pays for insured shipping back to me). Hope that sounds fair enough.
