LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by sleepy on Sept 12, 2024 5:50:25 GMT 1, Hi,
I hope that it is ok that I post this in this section. I know there is a specific auctions section, but I don't know how many people check it. I usually only check this section. I think this is actually my first thread here, so I hope that this is ok.
My good friend Andrew recently was hit with a terrible loss and massive unexpected medical bills. I am sure that many people here know what it is like to have something like this happen. He has had to put a good portion of his collection to auction, to help cover the unexpected costs. This auction will also help secure Thinkspace's future, during this current tough time for the art market, and will help make sure that Andrew can keep his home and is ok going forward.
It is an amazing collection and one of the best auctions I have ever seen for originals (I might be biased, but I think that statement is true). There are originals by Javier Calleja, Edgar Plans, Barry McGee, Margaret Kilgallen, Mark Ryden, Shepard Fairey, Banksy, Roby, Ryol, Audrey Kawasaki, Pejac, Faile, Michael Reeder, James Jean, Hebru Brantley, Haroshi, Giorgiko, and so many more. Too many for me to list here. The starting bids are all very reasonable.
This auction ends will take place tomorrow morning at 10am PST in Los Angeles and online. That is 12 hours from now. If any of you see anything you like, please register to bid asap and bid on it. It goes to a very good cause.
Thanks for checking this out, I hope this is ok.

LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by Acme Thunderer on Sept 12, 2024 6:12:17 GMT 1, There are some really impressive works there. Worth mentioning these OGs from Banksy and Pejac, but that ROA is my favourite.

LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by Wanchope on Sept 12, 2024 18:53:59 GMT 1, Yes and some great results. Very impressed at the auction. They show all the photos unlike all the other auction houses, not stock photos. Decent info and provenance. Plus the auctioneer is good and giving plenty of time for each lot which some of the others in the UK race through and miss bids at the end ( just ignoring them). A few things to learn for our British auction houses !!

LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by jackrabbit on Sept 12, 2024 20:20:36 GMT 1, An amazing collection! Really sad that Andrew has to part with such a chunk of it following his recent hardship. Even sadder that he is forced to do so in the current market...
So many gems up for grabs here and don't forget that the auction is split over two days with another treasure chest of amazing pieces going on auction tomorrow.

LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by Dice on Sept 13, 2024 14:14:13 GMT 1, $11000 is a bargain for a full set. If this had PC it would be about $400000!!!
I would have bought it if I had the readies, I have one already but missing some bits from the set.

Provenance was it was gifted to the current seller in 2005 from the person it was originally gifted to. Only the person gifted the work could apply for a coa. In years gone by that was the case.

LAMA Auction ๐บ๐ธ Los Angeles , by Boy Wonder on Sept 18, 2024 15:55:27 GMT 1, The set is not eligible for PC Then itยดs not a coa. Authenticity is about authorship. Either a work is by the artist or not. Nothing in between. PCO is a joke and they are ruining the legacy of Banksy.

As good as any second tier auction house Id say and you can probably negotiate more with them than the Sothebys/Christies
