Paul Insect: Something Forbidden, by mojo on Jul 19, 2024 10:13:19 GMT 1, What were peoples preferences on the two prints, 'Bluesy' or 'Goldy'? I personally went for the 'Bluesy' as I thought it was the best colour way, although slightly larger edition size, 75 as opposed to 25. I really like both of them and generally I like the colours yellow & pink together, it looked airy and light, however when I looked at them at the show I would have chosen the gold background, something about the texture and depth made me prefer it. I can't afford either so it really makes no difference to me personally but congratulations on getting one, they are both stunning.

Yeah the baby head stickers went up all over London at one point. I remember getting excited when I spotted one while visiting Dismaland.

Paul Insect: Something Forbidden, by met on Jul 19, 2024 19:34:59 GMT 1, I regret not buying this sign 🤦🏼♀️ Although I think it was about £800 from memory? Is that reasonable? Either way it was a great day out. I liked the sign too, and if I'd been there in-person, would probably have bought it. I love a classic road sign, plus it's "from the artist's collection" and is nicely signed and tagged on the back. A sweet item.
I agree Classic road sign Classic pins style And cool to hang on the wall
I agree, that's a cracking looking piece. I'm a sucker for a sign though. Is the baby part a sticker? Yeah the baby head stickers went up all over Lon don at one point. I remember getting excited when I spotted one while visiting Dismaland. I have simple needs.
Simple needs could well be the secret to happiness. Or at least contentedness.
That, along with retaining one's sense of curiosity and wonder. Plus the ability to see beauty in the mundane or absurd.
A good sense of humour also helps, of course.
Oh yeah, and the acceptance that life is pain (William Goldman, The Princess Bride).
Or, alternatively, to live is to suffer (Gordon Allport in his preface to Man’s Search for Meaning, by Victor Frankl):
But these moments of comfort do not establish the will to live unless they help the prisoner make larger sense out of his apparently senseless suffering. It is here that we encounter the central theme of existentialism: to live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering. If there is a purpose in life at all, there must be a purpose in suffering and in dying. But no man can tell another what this purpose is. Each must find out for himself, and must accept the responsibility that his answer prescribes. If he succeeds he will continue to grow in spite of all indignities. Frankl is fond of quoting Nietzsche, "He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how."
Hope you all have a fun weekend.
