Awesome. Thank you for the photos.
__________
When was this?
Looks like you showed up at the perfect moment:
Some welcome peace and quiet. Especially given the slight frenzy over the last 12 days.
No pushing or shoving. Nobody hassling anyone. Nobody blocking the view.
You could remain in prime position, up‑close.
And take all the time you wanted to check out that wooden hoarding and those two separate layers of plastic.

I like how they have framed the hoarding as if to somehow make it more aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. I think Banksy came back and it’s part of the artwork. Maybe it is about the environment after all. If we continue like this, this will be the only way to remember what a tree looked liked: in a museum 😉

This will stay in the history of surrealism art ! And it could be a great essay for schoolboys : "how far the protection of art can go - to disfigure it "

I guess he’d broke the glass if needed to pee 🚾 Anyway, I was just reading this: “There is a lot of hot air in the art world, both in the gallery world and in the art trade. A lot of the sales pitches are fantasy," he explains. "Through clever marketing and fancy stories, people are enticed, prices are inflated and sometimes even manipulated. This happens especially in the big art cities like New York and London."
What do yous think when thou see a toilet behind glass in a museum?

As for galleries and all, not much has changed. Read Frida Kahlo's letter about wannabes artist in France And Duchamps and wife are mentioned for being the nicest artist and host ever.

Banksy Tree Mural • North London, by GH on Apr 3, 2024 7:29:23 GMT 1, I really hope that if Banksy releases a video (if it is Banksy), there is Dungle in it frantically taking photos. 🙌 I should have taken the discarded cardboard, although I did get covered in green paint. I’m never washing again! image upload To be honest this bit of card now looks less rubbish than the tree on the wall behind all the ephemera.
Is it normal for Banksy to abandon such things? Wondering if they were distracted and any chance the wall is unfinished.

Good point, Watson. ;-)

Is it normal for Banksy to abandon such things? Wondering if they were distracted and any chance the wall is unfinished. they painted the figure first and then used this bit to cover it while they sprayed the wall. The splashed paint doesn't look anything like the paint on the actual mural, so it wasn't used to cover the figure... also the figure would have a clear square around it, where paint was masked by this board, but it doesn't.
The only place I can see where it might have been used, is on the right hand side, to protect the metal fence, or block the view slightly from the pavement next to them... but, again, the paint splats don't look the same as the mural.
(I'm also curious about where that photo was taken, as the building and car park also don't look like the buildings around the mural.)

I picked it up to see if it was the stencil, then left it where I found it next to the figure, IMO it was defo used to cover the figure while the wall was sprayed.
i went to get my family to show them and returned 5 mins later and the cardboard had been moved to the side of the building.
