New Yoko Ono release, by ┏( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)┛ EnS on Feb 23, 2024 14:04:49 GMT 1, Just to clarify, Tate are increasing the price as it sells out. It started at £850, then went to £950. It's now £1200. I'm guessing the last few will be even more expensive. I still think it's a fair price though, for such a low edition. Money grab. It’s not even signed! How lazy is that. Not too hard to sign 45 boxes, c’mon. what next, a bag full of air?

New Yoko Ono release, by ┏( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)┛ EnS on Feb 23, 2024 14:19:15 GMT 1, Like a Shrigley balloon? He didn't sign those! Not familiar with that release but probably.
IMO Art purchases should always pass two levels: 1. I need to like them (that’s the easy one) 2. Tell your wife/husband/partner or the lads at the pub what you bought and for how much. If you pass the second level without a fight or collective laughter, then you did good!
Jokes apart, everyone spends their money how they want but at the end of the day it’s a trinket box with a mirror showing all the time the face of someone that bough a trinket box, unsigned, for £1,500+. If you look at your index finger, it’s even smaller than that!
I would have appreciated something more “made by the artist”…if you know what I mean…
Whoever bought it (44 people for sure ATM) I hope they’ll enjoy it.

There's a number of artists out there that do not sign their work. Barbara Kruger is one of them. I don't think you should always put these things down to being lazy.

If you want to put it to the test, use the following:

New Yoko Ono release, by robo on Feb 23, 2024 23:04:04 GMT 1, I’d have bought this piece if it was a few cm bigger.
Ono did a great (and in my view much better) edition for Whitechapel Gallery 2 years ago “mend piece for John”

New Yoko Ono release, by loui on Feb 26, 2024 23:27:31 GMT 1, Truly ridiculous and Hirst-like money hunt ! Yes, that couple of thousand dollars will truly make a difference to 90 year old Yoko, wife of John Lennon Well, this comment, I now have started wondering what the reason could be for her creating that tiny box?

New Yoko Ono release, by loui on Feb 27, 2024 8:58:09 GMT 1, Yes, it’s a mystery why an artist creates an artwork Well I for one thought that some create their work as a protest, to denounce something, to create awareness. But I guess that’s a mistake.

New Yoko Ono release, by mojo on Apr 29, 2024 15:11:06 GMT 1, Just got back from the Yoko Ono Show at The Tate, really interesting with lots of interactive work to play with. Plenty of films and audio to show the more conceptional work, photographs and some excellent small dot drawings and fun instructions. Left a few wishes on the tree, some scribbles and a hair on the nail board. Check out the "Not 10 Foot" tag in the Add Colour (refugee boat) room.
