George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by 18921892 on Jun 2, 2024 18:57:44 GMT 1, Iโm still waiting on my framed yellow Portrait and Head, museum Plexi and white. Should be here soon, personally it's my favourite of the 3. Hopefully it looks even better in the flesh.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by Display_arts on Jun 2, 2024 19:43:31 GMT 1, Saw all 3 framed and they all look really really good.
I like Prismatic Head most. Lost in Time is the most exciting, but I wouldnt hang it.
These are real collector pieces and itยดs a shame that people sell it right away, most didnt even took a look at it. I hope AA finds out and blacklist them. All the prices that I have seen so far seemed to low in my opinion...

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by Wimbledon1981 on Jun 2, 2024 19:55:45 GMT 1, Agree, have to ask why one applied to get the work. Just money? Maybe buy some stocks or another asset. If youโre flipping this quickly, maybe let someone else have a go that will live with the work in their home for a while - at least the amt of time that Avant has asked clients to honor.

Itยดs understandable that people want to make a easy few thousands with very little work. I dont blame them. I just hope that the buyers who buy them in the end contact AA for authentication and whoever bought them wont get anything anymore that is desirable.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by Jonas B on Jun 3, 2024 8:08:46 GMT 1, If these are legitimate early flips it just makes Avante Art and their ridiculous vetting process a joke. Whoever is making the decisions at AA really hasnโt got a clue and this just reflects badly on the company as a whole.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by blurp on Jun 3, 2024 13:50:03 GMT 1, Tbh I imagine AA actually wants a degree of flipping. It's a barometer of demand and hype. Place most of them, have a few flipped. Offer a price point which creates demand for this and the next release. It builds their brand and keeps the machine pumping. Remember when people were climbing over themselves for a Coca-Cola vase? How's that going? Honest question, I have no idea.

If AA wanted flipping then why on earth would they expend so much time and energy trying to vet people before allocating the prints? Why would they bother? If they wanted flipping to continue they could simply send them out on a first come, first served basis and save themselves an awful lot of hassle.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by blurp on Jun 3, 2024 18:20:15 GMT 1, While AA's vetting process might seem counterintuitive to encouraging flipping, it's actually a strategic move to control the market. By carefully selecting initial buyers, AA ensures that the prints are placed with individuals who appreciate the art, thus creating a solid foundational demand. Limited, strategic flipping then acts as a market signal, generating hype and driving up the perceived value. This controlled scarcity and subsequent demand contribute to building AA's brand prestige and ensuring sustained interest in future releases.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by Archives Gallery on Jun 3, 2024 18:43:51 GMT 1, Have a large enough network that we're hoping some eventually just lets go for cost. We believe these will land at about a 50-60% premium on the secondary market, and so just a matter of finding the right person at the right time. We could be wrong though and end up regretting not scooping these up for the same price we're currently offering them at.

George Condo ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Print For Sale, by Acme Thunderer on Jun 3, 2024 19:42:51 GMT 1, I got into this art scene 20 years ago as it was not corporate (but really exciting with new artists), but many of us are turned off by some companies like AA (flogging established artists in their twilight years).
It appears that these AA vetting processes are nothing more than a marketing ploy to contact and build a rapport with collectors so they can spend even more with them. I work in marketing so itโs what I would do if I was them.
They make them feel special thinking they are selected and passed the test. The people who are buying multiple releases from AA (including all their timed releases) have been lured in and are falling for it, although Iโm sure they think it has worked in their favour.
Weโve seen similar tactics employed by Heni when people think they have to buy everything unless they might miss out on something they really want.
Itโs also why they do all these draws / lotteries to build up their contact and client databases - not to be fair and giving everyone an opportunity.
It is 100% clear that AA couldnโt give a toss whether they are resold or not, just as long as the people buying, keep on buying.
Sorry if it upsets any of the AA faithful. For what itโs worth, I am always genuinely happy if someone has got something they really wanted to display on their walls and I definitely donโt begrudge them.

For what itโs worth, I am always genuinely happy if someone has got something they really wanted to display on their walls and I definitely donโt begrudge them. Completely agreed! Well, to be honest, when you build up a collector base that has been incredibly loyal to you, and esp the ones that actually abided by their resale clauses and are now holding pieces that are trading at -60-70% under premium (and at one point were selling for a 200-300% secondary market premium), we'd like to think that leaves a sour taste in some people's mouths. Obviously, have the utmost respect for people that didn't resell and still continue to buy from AA, but we also completely understand why some people would want to make atleast some money back from one of the few releases this year that has some margins. Even then though, the margins aren't that high - some emerging artists had significantly higher margins during 2021 (Such as Javier Calleja - Up to You : retail ~3k USD, was trading for as high as $40k USD during peak, and now at about ~6k USD).
