We reserved editions of all prints for public release! In a little over 1 month the remaining prints (snickers) will go live but it will be first come first serve. So I advise people to be on site and ready to have the best shot as they'll likely go fast.

Also the face kind of cracks me up (some may find it even creepy like my wife, but I find it humorous and I donโt always listen to what my wife thinks)!!

I did an Artsy search for prices of 6K or less and it came up with 40 artworks. I did not click on all of them but admittedly, they do seem to be unsigned. www.artsy.net/artist/george-condo?price_range=100-6000Someone posted a screenshot of the AA site which didn't seem to mention "hand signed". No doubt they are signed but I think people should double check as Condo has issue unsigned prints in the past. But yeah, I'm not suggesting 6K is a bad price. And, of course, you can hardly compare retail with secondary really anyway.
Most of those sub $6K "prints" are small offset prints from a box of 10 that were free giveaways from the VIP version of Skarstedt Gallery's "Drawing Paintings" publication. They're what you buy in a museum gift shop, small prints, not signed, not numbered, stamped on the back, and not worth more than $10 each.

These are great, not good! Every other print he's ever produced pales in comparison to these. I can't believe people are actually complaining about the image selections; each one is amazing.
These are easily comparable to really strong Jonas Wood prints (matisse pots or interior) AND/OR the nice Harland Miller penguin editions (not the most recent WC - those were shite).
I can only imagine that these will increase in value, as long as prints are still collected in the future!

We live in a world of hype now, measured only by immediate success. A print has to sell out within minutes or it's a dud and the artist's entire worth is called into question.
"Will it hold its value? Will it be worth more than I paid for it? Will it flip like burgers?"
It used to be about the art, man.
That's what we would call the print seller. The art man. We'd go to his store and ask if we could look through his drawers, and he'd often say yes, but lock the door first.
Nobody cared whether it was good value, what the work would resell for, and we knew nothing about the artist's opinion on things like vaccines or women. And we all assumed that they were massively into drugs and/or alcohol, why else would they be doing what they were doing? It doesn't make any sense, otherwise.
Often they wouldn't even print the entire run of a print. Sure, they'd say it was an edition of 250, but we all knew it was really 12.
It was a simpler, possibly more stupid time.
I think these prints are aimed at folk for whom 6k is not a lot of k, and also at folk who can possibly scrape together 6k.
If you like it and think the price is fair - go for it. As my old art teacher used to say, "..at the end of the day, it's George Condo. What's he doing here again?"
