Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by sevrin on Oct 4, 2023 11:41:55 GMT 1, So, let me get this right, you are selling works now, at the price that you think they may be worth in the future? At auctions this is called "estimate". These Banksy prints are priced right at $400+. But, as with any auctions, the price is adjusted to suit the buyer. If there is no buyer, it will be reduced. As you can see from the prices of a number of galleries, the prices for these prints are already high. That is not what it suggests on your website, the prices are fixed prices, not 'estimates' as you suggest, if this was your intention, I would recommend re-branding as an auction house as opposed to a gallery, then clearly state the prices are only estimates, and invite offers, or simply just list everything on Ebay auctions!

Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by Hedonism .Gallery on Oct 4, 2023 11:43:29 GMT 1, Hi, I opened my gallery, I put fucking high prices maybe someone will fall for it or I'll explain to them that they know prices of the future, but you can offer your price, but damn didn't they give you a test before being able to open a gallery? A gallery is not an auction house where you can buy something inexpensively, and not a publisher who sells at manufacturer prices.
The primary goal for the gallery is to earn money in order to put this money into circulation and buy more and more art that can be offered to collectors.
For example, compare the prices of Chagall lithographs in our gallery and in another American gallery. They are no different except the price.

Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by Hedonism .Gallery on Oct 4, 2023 11:53:42 GMT 1, If you want, you can check in official government databases - no problem. Prices can always be revised downward. Thatโs basically what I did with my first post here - you can offer your price, Iโll consider it. I'm sorry you had to move to the US looking for political asylum - that sounds absolutely awful, but at the end of the day, as the proverb says, you "Don't go to another monastery with your own samovar". Art markets in Europe and the US don't work the same way as in Russia - you don't insanely inflate the prices with the idea to later negotiate them! The only thing you are doing here - is damaging the market by speculating the prices, which is also resulting in jeopardising your own reputation and creditability in judgements when it comes to setting up the market value of these pieces. We have lithographs and heliogravures for 100-200 dollars, various small items for 40-70 dollars.
We are not in the Soviet Union, where the market was under state control.
It's simple - buyers will buy at these prices - great, if they don't - prices will be reduced.

Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by alberti on Oct 4, 2023 12:05:53 GMT 1, I love your attitude Hedonist, you always have a reply, even if it is total BS. I foresee a bright future for you and your stockpile of prints, there are many ignorant people in this world... but not here, actually the more you talk, the more you lose credit. So, move to another place and keep quite.

Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by met on Oct 4, 2023 12:28:15 GMT 1, Good afternoon. The price is based on the growth potential of these works. There is no doubt that in a few years these prints will be among the most desirable Banksy artifacts. All our prices are negotiable and can be adjusted to satisfy the Buyer.
And all the shep fairey items you are kindly offering discounted from $270 to $170 are the offset lithos that are available at source for $30. And the invader 4000 2nd edition book you are kindly offering discounted from $1200 to $750 is also available from source for $40 And the Yayoi Kusama Louisa a poster you are kindly offering discounted from $600 to $390 is also available from source at $35 Andโฆ.. I havenโt looked at your other items for saleโฆ but Iโm pretty sure we can all see a pattern here. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Another noteworthy mention is the Gerhard Richter poster, which they are offering for a whopping $7500, while you can purchase it at its source for just 79 EUR.
The pattern is unfortunate; it is that of a chancer.
Hedonism .Gallery is taking both the members of this forum and other potential customers for fools.
But what might be even more offensive is the attempt to rationalise the ridiculous pricing โ especially for pieces still available at source, at their original cost:
The price is based on the growth potential of these works. There is no doubt that in a few years these prints will be among the most desirable Banksy artifacts.
Seriously?
That just adds insult to injury.
__________
To any dealer, gallery or auction house representative involved in the sale of artwork, there follows a straightforward thought experiment.
It can also serve as an Integrity Test:
A person you truly care about is interested in items you are selling.
They know little when it comes to art, and ask if you would recommend that they buy those items from you at your listed prices, as opposed to continuing to look around and buying them elsewhere.
[These could be anything. Maybe a David Shrigley poster consigned to auction, such as When Life Gives You A Lemon. Or Banksy Cut & Run posters on the website of a dealer.]
1. Would your good-faith reply to their question be, "Yes"?
And "Yes" (perhaps with an added friends-and-family discount of, say, 15%), because your pricing is objectively fair โ or at least not unfair when compared to the cheapest alternative?
If so, then you have passed the test.
Congratulations for not trying to rip people off.
2. But imagine you responded instead by laughing, followed with a comment along the lines of, "Why on earth would you pay $800 to me, when you can still buy the same thing at source for ยฃ15?!!"
This would demonstrate a lack of integrity.
It shows a willingness to take advantage of the inexperience, naivety, ignorance, poor research skills, or stupidity of one's customers.
You are effectively telling them, "If you choose to place your trust in me, then I will treat you like the fool you are, by fleecing you of your cash."
Any relationship that exists in such a scenario will have been built on a foundation of contempt. Contempt by the business towards its own customers.
That doesn't sound promising to me, irrespective of how many other businesses are behaving just as badly.

Death NYC - Unique Work "SKULL A" (2020), by inefficiency of on Oct 4, 2023 12:40:55 GMT 1, The more this fiasco goes on the more this seems to be a purposefully dishonest, misleading and deceitful Act - as previously suggested not a great introduction to a new business that is so reliant upon client trust.
I take back my wishes of luck and withhold them until you follow mets advice of integrity.
