For the record, Perrotin answered me and will try to do something regarding those sellers of counterfeits Izumi Kato's artworks.

But from what I see from all your messages here, sellers of fakes are on many artists artworks...

For the record, I managed to buy what I wanted (signed posters at retail price), so I'm verry happy 😃 (I think it's important to say sometimes on UAA that we are happy, just to compensate for some people here who only speak with agressivity/contempt) !

I got a similar PM yesterday night about a piece I was in search of.
Upon initiating communication via email, the person seemed extremely suspicious, and even offered me the work at a price less than the budget I provided (which was suspicious itself). When I asked them if they would be down for a deal via an escrow, they suggested I send them 40% payment via wire transfer first, and the rest upon receiving the item. They have been unable to show me tagged pictures of the item as well. Just a word of caution to other members as well

This is kinda sad. If this continues people will be drawn to auction houses (since people seem to think everything selling through an auction is legit), rather than forums. It will limit the art market for the 99% of collectors who are not trained to spot fakes. And I don’t see scammers slowing down in the future.

There's one right now by Aya Takano on Heritage Auctions. I believe they're both still represented by Kaikai Kiki, so you could contact the galleries directly (although maybe have to live with big shipping and customs fees from Japan).

bumping this thread. I had a weird interaction with Daniel Peterson <[e-mail]. Username: petersondaniel839. Print in question: Yan Liu - Geneticist (art). This person messaged me about the piece then we took it to email. I asked for photos of the print and got a 400 x 400 potato quality image. I asked for more pics. He then sent me stock photos. I asked for verification of possession - e.g. a piece of paper with his name and date within frame of the image.

His response,
"I have already given you my paypal for goods and services so we can both have buyers and sellers authentication.
What do you mean a current picture with your name and other details closer to it ?
What exactly do you need that for??hope it is not what I thinking!! You trying to see if I want to scam you for your $115 which is not even going to help things out when I want to ship to you because I will still cover up postage,insurance and shipping fee of $50 from the $115 you are paying so what left for me to gain from what I am selling to you .

Utter dog shit. How do we get this person banned from this forum? Searched the web using the given email and found numerous accounts of fraud associated with the email. Reverse image search of profile pics for urban art and gmail yielded no results.
