Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by roisaintlouis on Feb 5, 2018 7:18:47 GMT 1, Hi Guys,
I'm launching my first online auction, we got around one hundred of works already, we are still open to proposals (with pretty low sellers fees for the adventurous ones who would like to be part of this very first sale).
The sale will be listed among many platforms as Invaluable, Live Auctionneers, Epailive (chine one), Drouot etc and we also got a nice mailing list after having being trading art for a few years.
No risks except the one to do a nice sale in March.
Please PM me if interested
Cheers,
Nico

Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by Pattycakes on Feb 6, 2018 18:41:12 GMT 1, Do you have a protected, separate vendors account? Because as a start up auction house without one you are not going to give a great deal of confidence to your vendors. I certainly wouldn't dream of consigning anything to an auction house without one.

Because as a start up auction house without one you are not going to give a great deal of confidence to your vendors. I certainly wouldn't dream of consigning anything to an auction house without one. Lets be honest though " printguru " you clearly would NEVER consign to another auction house aside from of course " Forum Auctions " who you clearly have some kind of affiliation with.
Whenever there is any other thread regarding any other auction house you come up with the same tired narrative of essentially slagging them off.
I don't know this guy and have no idea how good / bad his auction is going to be but everyone has to start somewhere and as long as he operates with integrity then good luck to him - IF he does anything wrong then I have no doubt that the community will let everyone know and then his business will probably fail but until that ever happens then he should have the benefit of the doubt without people like yourself trying to make things harder for him who are clearly biased and are coming from a commercial perspective. ?

Christie's Phillips and Sotheby's would probably disagree with you there, as they all receive a decent amount of my consignments as well. As I've said a number times I consign where the market is, anyone with any sense would. However there are houses that I simply will not give any business to and I have no problem saying so.
And no I'm not slagging him or anyone off, I am just incredibly wary of auctions with no protection for sellers. I and l number of other people got badly burned by Paddle 8, and that was all because they had no protected vendors account when they went under and as a result the sellers lost their items and didn't get paid out. It's all very well holding auctions, but when things go wrong, it's the sellers who lose out time and time again.
If they get some results with the first sale then potentially I would take a look. Generally I prefer to consign with Artcurial in Paris, but they are not cheap to sell with, so other options are always of interest me.

Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by hungry on Mar 7, 2018 21:36:45 GMT 1, Good selection for sure. Some of those initial value estimates seem slightly off +/-, but that's just me going against the anchor bias. Exciting to see how this first auction through these guys works out!

Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by Smokeidaeye on Feb 14, 2019 18:34:51 GMT 1, Some interesting pieces in this online auction this Saturday from Alyes Auctions including some Murakami prints. I'll be interested to see how heavy the bidding is on several items.
If anyone had a keen eye while watching the recent movie "Beautiful Boy", there was a framed letter from Keith Haring hanging in the kitchen that was very similar to the one offered here. I should go back through the movie and find a screenshot but I remember it mentioned liking t-shirts he sent...

Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by Deleted on Feb 15, 2019 11:58:36 GMT 1, Yes, it's the same guy who owns Dope gallery. I've bought from Alyes auctions before. It's all gone smoothly and things are well packaged. It's based in Hong Kong but they state that some items are sent from Paris and other locations. However, I bought an item which stated its location as France and then found it was shipped from China. Fortunately he put a low value on the customs form but it could have cost me a fortune in UK customs duties.

Alyes Auctions ππ° Hong Kong, by Pattycakes on Feb 15, 2019 12:24:17 GMT 1, Having looked at the catalogue all I will say is that there are a number of fake and very questionable "after" lots early on in the sale so I'd advise caution there. The Murakami lots all look fine however.

Not sure who these guys are but they either don't know or are just wilfully selling fakes, either way they are ones to be avoided I think you are being a bit unfair here. As far as the Koons balloon figures are concerned the site explicitly states that they are an edition from a studio that issued them, i.e. they are not by Jeff Koons. The estimates themselves show you that they are not genuine Koons figures. These are not 'fakes' and the auction site is not selling them pretending they are originals. They are editions based upon Koons original balloon figures. Presumably you are thinking the Harings are fakes for the same reason.
