GWB was a bit more orchestrated...this one is pure demolition, but yeah no doubt someone will pay for it, isn't a gallery attempting to sell the freezer from Valentines Day Mascara?  Looks very Richard Hambleton inspired.

I think the cobbled/ pieced-back-together version is exactly the point.  The title is "Morning" and now it "is broken." Fun piece.  Banksy is on fire in 2023.

Exactly this. The site was chosen as it was being demolished. The demolition was at exactly at the perfect stage when the second photo was taken. The whole point was the demolition. Broken. I like it.

It works on too many layers, and people cannot or just don't appreciate complexity.

True, relatively recent stuff like BOTI & Dismaland would go on for pages and pages, great fun. The Fragile mouse got a bit of footfall though but that was prob fuelled by optimistic flippage.

So does it look like the metal curtains were added to the building? I like it either way. It's simple, and I love that he announced it after it was torn down.

People on here can be funny sometimes, being critical if every Banksy piece isn't better than the last, or even anything that's gone before in the history of art.

I enjoy it for what it is and feel grateful that Banksy is still out there producing things.

I like to interpret it like this:
if you see a cat in it then it's a cat. if you see a dog in it then it's a dog.

If you see the artist's soul in some moments of his day... maybe... you can see us both. Sure…that symbolism…it's there and it's not in front of the boy but behind. Watch the guy's back.

It's as if the boy opens the curtains...and that cat (or dog)...represents satisfaction in something.

Those tents were also in the Croydon shop window... but there they were represented in the painting to the left... and painted if I remember correctly.

The symbolism of a work of art is not always easy to understand.

I like to see that the two images... within that site... are still very much linked.

The rest is Banksy's work.

Edit: Just looked at the "Gross Domestic Product" in Croydon...and they were there too in sheet metal.

The two metal curtains featured in this latest Banksy artwork... are the very ones used in Croydon... in the "Gross Domestic Product" window.

Simply... Banksy... placed them upside down... and removed the chains that were previously present in Croydon.

I compared some details and they match perfectly.

Material recycling!... Good!...
Banksy respects the environment.

Nah, that 'mysterious' guy in the bowler hat is Robin Barton aka Bankrobber. Unfortunately for him there was no Banksy to salvage by the time he turned up😂
