BANKSY VINYL - DISCOGS SCAMMER - BE CAREFUL, by parry617 on Oct 21, 2022 15:45:21 GMT 1, Hi guys I just wanted to give you all a heads up. There has been a spate of Discogs sellers popping up selling Banksy and other expensive vinyl. Most account have feedback and the seller will reply with images and even go as far as to send you a tracking number that seems real and active.
In the last week alone 3 different accounts are trying to sell a blowpop record for around Β£2800. Β£2000 under the last sale price so it looks tempting.
In the last 12 hours this new seller has popped up. I have been speaking to this seller and ask for images. They sent images from this sale on Catawiki...
www.catawiki.com/en/l/16044645-banksy-x-capoeira-twins-blowpop-records
I have asked them to write todays date on a small bit of paper and place this next to the sleeve and send that image to me. Since then, I have had no reply.
Avoid this seller and be super careful when using Discogs for expensive records.

One of my friends in the US has just been scrammed this way for this record. He was the one to warn me about this.
Feel free to add your scam stories to this tread, is this a huge problem on Discogs?

The prices displayed are already scams (moreover, these Banksy vinyls are never sold)... I had a problem with a Dran who had the cover. 20 euros, I thought "cool".... In fact the seller accepted the sale then wrote to me saying that he refused it and asking me for 65 euros (the price of the last sale on Discogs, he had probably not checked) ... I I said no, I told him I wanted my LP and guess what? He sent me a rotten vinyl without cover and scratched, an unknown electro thing).... Discogs doesn't actually do anything, they don't have legal services and volunteers answer... I had found 10 years ago all my nuggets (sold since at a ridiculous price): 5 or 6 single Alert/crash of Invader sold for 15 quid then)... Almost the whole collection of Banksy... I think that, as a member of the forum said, the art market is not at its highest and will go down (given the crisis) ... Besides, these vinyls of B. or not, do not not sell. On Discogs as on ebay, prices that are too high no longer go away, whatever the work (we saw for the Rubiks, all these scams and Invader have "killed" them all - selling the Rubik on line !

BANKSY VINYL - DISCOGS SCAMMER - BE CAREFUL, by Someone Like You on Oct 21, 2022 17:48:34 GMT 1, I have asked them to write todays date on a small bit of paper and place this next to the sleeve and send that image to me. Since then, I have had no reply. This is also not enough, there are programs that add a piece of paper on the photo that looks authentic. A few months ago on Discogs a scammer stole a lot of money like that. I know because I have discovered some, but then they are always the same and they block me, I cannot continue to open accounts for leave negative feedback.....

BANKSY VINYL - DISCOGS SCAMMER - BE CAREFUL, by brettlock on Mar 23, 2023 10:04:54 GMT 1, The "sales" of scammers on Discogs has raised massively the last weeks. EspeciallyDirty Funker's and the "Laugh Now" editions, but all other Banksy related records as well. Mostly it's easy to recognize the scam offers as these are new members without feedback and ridiculous low prices. The next day the listings and the accounts are usually gone. But some others are much harder to recognize, as there are guys hacking reliable seller accounts with hundreds of positive feedbacks and use it for their scams. So better ask twice for a proof and strictly avoid paypal family and friends payment.

Totally agree with you. I have had all of these (the 4 Laugh Now, the Banksy years, the 4 Rats, the Copters etc etc β¦ I have no more as all sold for nothing then. Just saying because I have to reckon that the sleeves and the all lps were very great quality, as mini prints. but well, itβs true that they are not by Banksy. i remember when the princes went up on Discogs then EBay, it was because a speculator woman seller from Switzerland ! She made crazy prices after GDP I think ( or after WOH ? Or after Dismaland ? Canβt remember when all the Banksy βs image or tats increased hundred times the price )β¦ that what is happening to Invader too !
