Looks like Rhodes editions are releasing two new prints by Nick Smith next week. 66 of each colour for £750 each. I doubt I’ll be able to grab those in time. Couldn’t get the last heaven print as sold pretty much instantly 😩

Yeah I’d love to get the set too 👍 and it’s fame and beauty not fame and fortune - god know where I got that from - Probably due to the massive amount the recent Warhol Marilyn shot sage blue went for recently 😂😂

I'm surprised I hadn't seen many of the Heaven prints on eBay.. Nice to see these go straight into collectors hands.

I definitely be down for a set of these, but I have effectively run out of wall space and still have a flat file... 😭😭

Yeah. My mate got a heaven and it’s amazing in real life. The colours change from reds, purples, oranges, blues and greens depending on the light and angle so I can see why people aren’t selling. Think you should buy the two new prints and another flat file to put them in! 😁

ABOUT THE IMAGE:
Proudly presenting Nick Smith’s latest limited edition prints: ‘Fame’ and ‘Beauty’.

The two individual editions of 66 reference Warhol's iconic 1964 Flowers paintings, evoking the imagery and bold colours associated with the '60's and the Pop Art movement of the time.

This edition presents vivid hibiscus blooms on a crisp white background adorned with a high-gloss screen overlay. The image is playfully pixelated in Nick Smith's iconic abstraction style that, combined with the colour-chip text, allows the viewer to digest the full meaning of the work, anchoring it in it's context.

For these editions each of the individual custom-made colour-chips references a word, which when read in its entirety, mirrors Warhol's transcripts discussing the subjects of fame & beauty as found in ‘The Philosophy of Andy Warhol’.

Fame and Beauty are recurring themes in both Warhol’s and Smith's works, aligning the concepts with the artworks, which are often satirical of contemporary culture.

These images were originally introduced at Smith's 2020 ‘Pioneers’ exhibition and have gone on to be some of the most popular images from that show and are still highly sought after. Not only are these images forging themselves as classics for Smith, but we hope by releasing these editions it enables the popular works to reach and be appreciated by a wider audience.

This is a nice looking set, although the release prices for NS’s prints are a bit cheeky imo, especially given the relative proximity to the cost of his OG’s. I would love to see NS and Rhodes try something a little more ambitious and incorporate a little more artistry into the printing techniques. Another giclee for £750 feels a bit meh to me.

Completely agree that this could have been a screenprint rather than a giclee. I thought the same thing when I got details yesterday. There are some nice videos on NS’s IG account so can forgive them, this time. 😁

Oh I thought £750 wasn’t too bad considering the whaam was £1000 and there are 77 of those, as apposed to 66 of these (I know whaam is much larger). The other releases have sold out immediately so Rhodes have realised what the pinch point is. I think they have got it right at £750, but you’d have hoped for a set of two for £1400 perhaps…..? 😁

Where Rhodes have definitely got it right, is by offering the set of 2 (and a discount is not needed).

Yeah I suppose there are 132 if you ignore the two colour versions 😁 Just think a £50 discount on each if you bought two would be a nice gesture, but guess they don’t need to bother as the interest will be there. I prefer the pinky purple version. Will be interesting to see what p&p charge is on top.

Bit steep but as they will be sent flat and well packaged I guess it's not too bad + The COA will also be posted seperate so a bit more to think about.
I prefer them flat than that nervous tube opening and unfurling process we've all come to love 😁

One way to look at it, however I thought the wham pricing was absurd. Agree with you that Rhodes have their finger on the pricing pulse when it comes to supply and demand. However, that’s not to say the price point and production value feels off by industry comparison.

If you were looking at buying a set, I'd consider buying a 1/1 from the Psycolourgy 2.0 for £1500..

/ The print will be available to purchase on Thursday 26th May 4pm (BST)

/ The website will be unlocked at the time of release. You do not need a password.

/ Strictly maximum one print of each colour-way per person. Any additional orders will be cancelled and refunded immediately

Just a heads up. They charged for flat shipping on the Psycolourgy 2.0 but mine were rolled.Shipping was extortionate too. Trying to get mine back for a replacement at the moment.

Yeah my psycolourgy were sent rolled in a tube too - wasn’t happy with that as they did say flat and I thought I’d paid for flat prices. Will be interesting to see if these new ones are defo sent flat. Maybe as they are larger than psycolourgy they will be flat. Rhodes are obviously making a bit on the shipping too as they are not offering collection for those of us who can easily get to soho….. 🙄

Yes but that’s exactly what was said on the the Psycolourgy sales page. It’s not a massive deal really expect mine came damaged. I just feel that they used that to justify absolutely ridiculous shipping charges and makes me wonder if they ever did plan to ship flat?

Mine was sent flat inbetween two pieces of wood so can’t really complain and the COA was sent with the print.
