The Thrower is a lottery winners and a first Thrower sold in a major auction!
It certainly will be interesting month as there is a Bonhams unsigned sale (very sensible not to mix the signed and unsigned) and another (yawn) Forum Banksy only!!

I realise they are deliberately set low at auctions to entice interest but these seem lower than normal? Either way, it will be really interesting to know what the end prices are.

The same happened on the Christies auction last month.
In my own opinion I think some of the "top end" prints should be in bigger auctions as the gap in value now is too large. I think a Gold GWB was passed at one on line auction (Sothebys?) and the GWB at Christies only attracted one bid.

I thought it was just me that could never find the right solution (other than float) to frame Banksy's badly placed numbering/signature

In fairness to the owner it was a pretty common way of framing back in the day and if done correctly it shouldn't have burned?
On the flip side however, Banksy collectors are often obsessed with condition (me included) but for other artists such as Warhol, Picasso etc condition becomes much less of an issue as they are already substantially older and they are enjoyed for the artwork.
Just my views 🤷🏻♂️

I don’t think easily fixed and who’s to say this is now how it looks having been ‘fixed’. Hopefully the buyer gets a condition report or at least sees it before potentially blowing north of half a million.

Sothebys offer you the opportunity when you consign to have them frame your previously unframed prints to be then hung in their exhibition of the sale - hence the term exhibition frame, the frames in my experience are as simple as you can get with the prints just dropped in, no mount/ floating etc.
