I will be in NYC from Saturday-Wednesday (7/28-8/1) and I want to make sure I am not missing out on something that I should be checking out while I'm in town. Things currently on my list are: the summer group show (Kaws, Condo, etc.) @ Skarstedt and the summer group show (Felipe Pantone and others) @ Joshua Liner Gallery.
Anything else you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Visit NEW YORK πΊπ² Street Art, Galleries, Events, by shy on Jul 28, 2018 14:03:42 GMT 1, Thanks for posting irl1. This is a crazy good result for Hambleton collectors. His respect is long overdue. Nice to see
only word of advice for newbie collectors is be careful and don't overpay.
Be weary because in the art game there are "investors" that load up on artist's work when cheap and then bid up the works so as to increase value and then unload...it's called "pump and dump" and is often used in the Stock Market.
So buy art if you LOVE it. That's most important and IMO if you are going to shell out big bucks then go for an already established Blue Chip artist as the down side is limited- same as buying a blue chip stock.

I do keep in contact with many members but it would be nice to be able to come on here for the art. You can always find some content on my personal IG or WhereTheresWalls IG as well. Feel free to PM if you need anything or info on NYC - as I dont check in here all that often

Things currently on my list are: the summer group show (Kaws, Condo, etc.) @ Skarstedt and the summer group show (Felipe Pantone and others) @ Joshua Liner Gallery. Anything else you recommend? Thanks in advance! Rammellzee at Red Bull Arts. Nothing else matters. Caught that show a few weeks ago. Very good, very interesting. Nice.
But, IMO, it pales in comparison to the current David Wojnarowicz show, 'History Keeps Me Awake at Night', at the Whitney. Add in the small Mary Corse retrospective, the show of protest art, and the nice rehang of their permanent collection, and the Whitney is a must-go right now.

Sans Titre, a new artist-first retail concept developed by ICNCLST will launch tomorrow, Sunday, July 29 at 1PM. The address: 107 North 3rd St, Brooklyn NY 11249. For our opening, will be selling original prints, drawings, and other objects and ephemera by Futura (including an extra-rare archival print re-release), Stash, 13thWitness, and Baron Von Fancy. Come and meet the artists, have works personalized on-site, and talk creativity with us all.

Thanks for the heads up. Saw some Baron Von Fancy works in there when I was at the Food Hall, next door. I was wondering what was going on there. Do you have any links etc?
Hi everyone, I will be in NYC from Saturday-Wednesday (7/28-8/1) and I want to make sure I am not missing out on something that I should be checking out while I'm in town. Things currently on my list are: the summer group show (Kaws, Condo, etc.) @ Skarstedt and the summer group show (Felipe Pantone and others) @ Joshua Liner Gallery. Anything else you recommend? Thanks in advance! I don't know if you are interested in Futura but this is a place I would go if I were in NYC this afternoon:
Sans Titre, a new artist-first retail concept developed by ICNCLST will launch tomorrow, Sunday, July 29 at 1PM. The address: 107 North 3rd St, Brooklyn NY 11249. For our opening, will be selling original prints, drawings, and other objects and ephemera by Futura (including an extra-rare archival print re-release), Stash, 13thWitness, and Baron Von Fancy. Come and meet the artists, have works personalized on-site, and talk creativity with us all.
I'd love to be there and buy a print by him!!

Yes! I totally caught that post yesterday morning as well and headed over to Brooklyn soon afterwards. My wife and I met Futura, got an amazing doodle and tag in my book, and bought a print from him. It was amazing to say the least.

May I ask you the prices of Futura prints and drawings? And what was the extra-rare archival print re-release? I live too far away to be there yesterday but I am so curious... Cheers

The square prints - similar to the ones Futura sold on his Futurarchives site - were $250. I didnβt see the re-release as it was packaged in a box, but it was a screen print, probably 3 feet by 3 feet, and was selling for $3,000.
