These were all artists to watch in 2019. They are all now totally out of reach for 99.9% million + auction results for many!

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by goose on Jan 3, 2022 1:47:58 GMT 1, He gets a lot of troll action on this Forum, but in terms of what what I’m recommending, I feel his work is easily available and at very affordable prices, and I feel he will remain an important figure in this scene for decades to come. That's a bold statement - what makes you say that? I am truly interested - discuss

Olive Allen (NFT) Rewind Collective (NFT) Angel "LA2" Ortiz Osinachi (NFT) Kenny Scharf Musah Swallah No disrespect. That list of "female artists to watch" is like being in back to the future. everyone single one of them were to be watched in 2019 now they are long gone. You needed to be watching Lucy Bull when she was at Smart Objects.
Much the same can be said for the "male artists" with the exception of Josh Sperling who has gone off the boil.
None accessible in the primary market. You can definitely watch them break auction records etc...but try and buy one...computer says NO!
As for the Op list...lost for words. wildly out of touch.

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by Acme Thunderer on Jan 3, 2022 16:31:43 GMT 1, I would like to think that for the past 20 months, there are new and established artists bursting with new ideas and creating stacks of work ready for us to view at exhibitions and buy. There were just waiting for the pandemic to stop. Or am I being optimistic?

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by newwavedave on Jan 3, 2022 16:50:07 GMT 1, I'm surprised so many people are criticizing these artists chosen because they aren't the latest fad. I'm not sure how daniel silk basis' his criteria but I would assume it would be:
1. an artist who has shown some longevity or penchant for a sustained career (I assume we aren't talking quick hype flips when we talk about 'collecting and investing') 2. Still available at an affordable price that has lots of room to grow 3. Is associated with street art
If that's the criteria, I would think focusing on artists that have been around for a few years and built up a name is almost required.
I think a lot of folks would love to also see a list of upcoming, perhaps slightly more risky but also slightly more affordable, artists.

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by Wearology on Jan 3, 2022 17:20:30 GMT 1, It would be nice to see some recommendations from those criticizing the lists provided. It is easy to publicly criticize someone on a public forum - it is not so easy to make negative public declarations and then give some positive alternative suggestions of artists they believe will pop off in 2022. I assume these are the same people that made fun of me for my STIK room in 2012 and Calleja world tour in 2018.

I don't really buy much at the moment, and really nothing that ever figures on this forum. If I do, it is probably going to be Sweet Toof (most likely older work) but I would never expect to see my money back there, its just because I love to look at it on my walls

Yeah, I have also been thinking if I could almost split the list or do two. One with the more established big names and another with those who are still very affordable and inmost overlooked.
Thank you, Happy New Year.

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by m23tps on Jan 4, 2022 0:32:23 GMT 1, Only artist I'd have on my wall/shelf from this list is Parra. Only artist I'd have in the vault from this list is Hirst.
Jonas Wood could make a strong push (again) money wise this year (would be thrilled to have his work on either my walls or in the vault).
Also like Otis Quaicoe (think someone also mentioned him above).
Charlotte Keates is perhaps one to add to the Female2022 artist list (above from Wearology).
And can we just move NFTs to another ArtForum. And ideally another space-time continuum.

Jonas Wood, yeah that’s one I have been thinking about a lot. He could certainly turn a corner in the future and become really massive but at the moment I don’t think he is selecting the right images to release. Not enough of the right pieces available to grow his popularity.

Daniel Silk’s TOP 10 Artist Recommendations, by m23tps on Jan 4, 2022 1:35:07 GMT 1, By "massive" I would mean "stratospheric" (because clearly huge already). Stratospheric is mainstream so that even casual art fans recognise the work and can name the artist. Level above Stratospheric is something like Art Deity i.e. Any man and his dog would recognise the work and name the artist. (Banksy, Picasso, Rubens, Warhol etc). Bottom line, think Wood is gonna level up in short term.
Anyways more to add to the tongue in cheek lists are Jamba Juice, Carphone warehouse, and Millies Cookies.
Happy New Year

Unless some plucky chaps are spinning up new DAOs to buy up some of the lovely legacy IP listed the rest of course are red herrings intended to ridicule the incumbent Daniel Silk's 2022 artist roster!
