If you can get there, John, it is fascinating. JO has an amazing collection and seeing his walking figures in the context of ancient Egyptian art for example really makes sense. 

Petworth is a lovely little Sussex town for a wander round and the surrounding countryside is beautiful too so plenty to do.

Q:There are digital aspects to a number of the physical works in the exhibition. But have you thought about getting into the digital-only world of NFTs?

Opie: I don’t understand these and can’t be bothered to learn about them. They don’t on the face of it sound any more interesting than discussions on discounts, but I could be wrong.

Had a wonder round this exhibition yesterday. Thought it was absolutely fantastic.

It's so well laid out and has a wonderful mix of his personal artwork collection and pieces he has made himself. You get a real hands on insight in to the man himself and what drives/influences his artwork. It's genuinely fascinating to see direct correlations between what excites and interests him to the art work that he produces.

I have an elevated respect for an artist that I already admired.

I actually had a chat with him at the Cristea Roberts exhibition, came across as a really interesting fella, would be worth going to this I reckon.

Went to the exhibition yesterday and have to echo what EKAP wrote - its a really good exhibtion, and his collection is awesome. Really interesting to see his influences (and what he collects). We had the whole place to ourselves yesterday, so I guess this is a good time of year to be visiting. If you're in the area then I highly recommend it!

Visited today and thought the show and location was great.

There is also a quiz for the kids with a free hot chocolate in the cafe when they finish. Made my 6 year old sons day 😂

Finally made it to Petworth on the return trip from Cornwall.
Great exhibition and always a lovely village to visit.
I liked the “statement” by JO and wanted to share it as I really share his thoughts on collecting.

We went today and the whole thing to ourselves...masks came off!

Perhaps the best overall exhibition I have ever been to.
My goodness but Opie has a wonderful personal collection, very eclectic and wonderfully explained.
His own works perfectly complimented the collection of other artists, and visa versa.

Totally recommended.

As above, Mr Opie doing a bit of a talk, although the full details not yet announced, I believe it starts at 6.30PM, thought I'd mention it if anyone thinking of making a visit.

May be worth 'registering your interest' as such with Newlands kfroms? I'm not sure of the full details, and how many places available etc.

I did it a few weeks ago and reserved a place, and the nice lady said she would contact me when all the details are available.

Although a bit of a trek for me, just wanted to add to the above positive comments about this exhibition, and would certainly recommend anyone visiting.

Fascinating to see the items in Mr Opies collection, and the tie in with his work, of which many lovely pieces on display.

Its a lovely venue, incredibly well done, as Ekap quite rightly says, in a beautiful location.

I'd go as far to say this is the best exhibition I have attended, truly fascinating.
