WANTED: GDP THROWER (VIP EDITION), by Levi Stubbs Tears on Sept 24, 2021 8:13:22 GMT 1, I understood the VIP edition to be the ones sold in frames as speced by Banksy.
The HF edition of 15 are something else I believe.
In any event, it was the former I'm after.

Given the above, that would make it problematic for people who have bought via galleries (so don’t know the original buyer) or if sellers who, realising the current value, ask for an additional payment (which they’d probably get as unlikely to go to court).
Either way - interesting that pc has decided to do this, rather than automatically post out coas.

I suspect a few buyers may be on the shitlist after this.

Smart sellers will no doubt have taken the photo while the item was still in their possession.

WANTED: GDP THROWER (VIP EDITION), by chefd on Sept 25, 2021 19:37:13 GMT 1, Maybe they could refuse to send a COA based on the following?
"We may need certain information from you so that we can supply the item to you. We will contact you to ask for this information. If you do not give us this information within a reasonable time of us asking for it, or if you give us incomplete or incorrect information, we may end the contract or decline to enter into a contract. We will not be responsible for not supplying any item if this is caused by you not giving us the information we need within a reasonable time of us asking for it."
If the original purchaser cant supply whatever it is they are requesting, such as a photo of the piece with ID, then they could refuse to issue the COA.
Any legal bigwigs around? lol

WANTED: GDP THROWER (VIP EDITION), by chefd on Sept 25, 2021 19:39:42 GMT 1, There also appears to be no mention of the COAs being sent out automatically.
"Certificates of Authenticity
Some of the items sold by GDP will be accorded a Certificate of Authenticity.
If you are invited to purchase an item which will be given a Certificate of Authenticity then you may be required to enter into a separate sales agreement with us as a condition of purchasing.
We will not issue a Certificate of Authenticity for an item until the second anniversary of the date of purchase. Certificates will be sent to the purchaser at the delivery address for the relevant item. Please be sure to tell us if your details change.
Please contact us by email at info@grossdomesticproduct.com if your address changes or if you do not receive a Certificate of Authenticity within 30 days after the second anniversary of the date of your purchase.
Emails, invoices and receipts from GDP do not constitute Certificates of Authenticity."

I wonder what PC consider a 'reasonable time' when they already have people waiting years for a COA

If they use that method you’re right. That doesn’t technically prove it’s still in your possession so they may want proof of possession on today’s date - who knows

Please contact us by email at info@grossdomesticproduct.com if your address changes or if you do not receive a Certificate of Authenticity within 30 days after the second anniversary of the date of your purchase.”
Nothing in the above says that a certificate will be sent automatically if you read it correctly. It states if you don’t receive it within 30 days of the anniversary you can contact them. It never states that they plan to send them without being asked. Read each statement individually rather than assuming the dots are connected

If they were not going to automatically send them they would say "Please make a request for your COA on the anniversary of your sale date"

Lol So you are basing the legal contract on the words that ‘aren’t ‘ there rather than what’s written in black and white. You can’t fill in the gaps yourself and assume what the contract means.
I could say to you ; “If I haven’t sent you £100 in the post by next Monday then email me to request it if you want it” That doesn’t ever mean I have to or you should expect me to do it before Monday .
It’s an effective clause actually because not only does it leave the buyer with the responsibility to request the coa if they want one but it also dictates the earliest date after which they can do so and leaves zero liability on PC for non provision of the COA without it being requested all at the same time.
Although I’m sure you figured that out already
