Well I know that there are a lot of fans of Jef on here ( and in France of course ) , but I ve never been a fan... As for C215 per example ( I know that is not the same paintings/technic, etc , but we are here to discuss, it's a forum ... It looks a bit sad for me.
I prefer art, street-art or graffiti more incisive, with a real message, or making to think about, not only beautiful walls, prints, characters etc ...
Each his own !
( I like Invader that has not in particularly important messages, but is for me more fun and creative : he tried so many technics and so many ludic artworks : speedball, maps, books, prints, kits, even balloons - artspace ones, still got some, etc )

I get that completely. Jef's work has a charm though and his placement is excellent. I particularly like his work on cardboard. Seem to remember visiting one of his shows in a Chapel somewhere in London many years ago. I still regret selling the Sitting Kid I bought.

Agree that he seems to be underrated. But also know what you mean when comparing with C215 - there seems to be more complexity with his work. Iโve a riot police piece by C215 and the difference between that and Jefโs is Mikeโs apart. But weโre not always looking for such complexity. Look at invader - simple but effective
