That doesnt sound right at all. Validating the pasword ( entering it twice ) is usually a phishing attempt. Are you on the discord?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by flingading on Nov 29, 2021 13:26:29 GMT 1, Itโs a minefield out there seems too easy to rip people off Indeed. And too easy to simply lose your money altogether. Palm...Ethereum...Dai bridge...coinbase or kraken... Even Heni admit that "if you do not do this before you send the funds to the exchange you will lose your funds". Yikes! I go in to panic mode each time I consider selling. And that's without the additional stress of buyers trying to rip you off. It's really not that dissimilar to when you transfer money via BACS. Your bank gives you warnings asking you to check it's going to the correct account etc. Transfer it to the wrong place there's a chance you may not see it again.
Buyers trying to rip you off/low ball you is as much apart of the physical art world as it is the NFT world.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by minutemade on Nov 29, 2021 15:38:12 GMT 1, Why are you putting words into his mouth? He could be saying that his are unremarkable compared to the other ones (i.e. a piece with middling stats, common traits, no fancy backgrounds), but of course, if someone complains, then it's about the monetary value. Get real. That's exactly what I was saying... No rarities involved. Just happy to be part of the experiment.
For real. TBH the Currency is pretty solid - visually thereโs not much difference between something with rarities or without. But GE hews much closer to PFP territory. Was really hoping for one with a balloon lol

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Poster Bob on Nov 29, 2021 15:54:58 GMT 1, Yes, I had assumed the same. My question was more in line with inquiring around Great Expectations-specific air-drops. I have bought a few of the JR NFTs in the hope that your general assumption is correct. Fingers crossed!

I donโt see utility, at least in the form of airdrops, for GE. The utility is for DHC. Would devalue DHC to offer much utility to its own airdrop imo.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by 25127096 on Nov 29, 2021 16:31:49 GMT 1, JR's responce in discord AMA session is interesting, he was asked what was happening with the vinyl from the Geza installation :
Good question about what will become of the vinyl, the GFG material. To be honest, it was not that big, it's a matter of proportion. So still, it's a piece of vinyl and so we are planning to do something with it. I don't want to say too much because it might involve a surprise for the community, but it will become something, it will be cut out and so you'll probably hear from us soon, me and my team. It should actually be in transit right now because they just dismounted the installation last week, as it was the last days and so it should be arriving any time in my studio and we'll start preparing the next step with it. Thanks for asking.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by surf101 on Dec 1, 2021 23:10:56 GMT 1, I truly think that if you want to get into NFT's, the Great Expectations is a great buy at the moment. Utility going forward is a must have IMO. I would say its really high risk buying the GE nft post mint. It will always be in people's mind that these were given away for free. They have ultra short term appeal like giza, until the next one. Creating a whole new hopiod rush. I feel like people are not really buying into this market unless are trading here already. Having bought one of the JRs then seeing where that was going I sold it double quicktime. Heni gives you the means to access the marketplace- but not the means to exit (or navigate Palm>Eth net) in a cost effective way). I won't take that away from Heni that they have made the whole thing a lot slicker. But the transparency is only the report and financial data they choose to give, and the NFTs they have released (in nft form - excluding the exchange factor of the Currency) art fairly generic and derivative of other projects.

Agreed and come July next year after burn day I think The Currency will tank. If the Drake factor can't keep GE alive then what can?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Pawel on Dec 2, 2021 1:45:48 GMT 1, In my opinion, people who actually heavily involved in crypto/NFT don't really care who Damien Hist is. They have their own star artists and VIPs.
The traditional art world try to up and get some of the cake but it tricky. if you can own CP/APES/VeeFriends/Beeple you have to get NFT. You cannot compare the prices with anything cause there's nothing else out there. If you want a piece by Hirst you have tons of other option.
On top of that nobody will be able to convince me that CP/APES are about the art. They are about belonging to an exclusive club. If you own Hirst NFT you're in a club with mostly boring old boomers who wanted to get Hirst OG and got surprised by the price rise
That said, we had the first proper high profile NFT auction in Poland last weekend. 1/1 NFT by Tomasz Gornicki, showing detailed model of one of his sculptures. It was sold for โฌ70k around 3 times what the actual sculpture is worth. Go figure.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Gunny on Dec 2, 2021 12:48:33 GMT 1, This market is so volatile and most projects are performing extremely badly! When there is another bull run, these will go again as they are up there with the premium NFT's. Of course there is a lot of if's and whens, however the chancers WILL get another chance - the market is not going to dissapear anytime soon and investors will be back in at some point

Like the Great Expectation? tanking as well on the serious note, nobody really knows what's gonna to happen. The value of physical can be always compared to other Hirst editions/originals. The NFT? I can go to 1k it might to back to 50k.
I always thought I would keep the NFT for the reason you mentioned, it's a no brainer really. Now with the GE I'm not so sure. It will be interesting if GE will give you the same privileges as Currency. If so you keep GE and get Currency physical. Win/win

Don't listen to everyone on the Discord groups etc. I was listening to them talking about them going to 30 eth ($100K at the time) easily, DON'T SELL they said! I was so tempted in the $50'000s and didn't - found out i was listening to 20 year old giving their wisdom! Ha Ha. No regrets though, it is what it is! Just remember, DO YOUR OWN THING!

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Lord Lucas Roham on Dec 2, 2021 12:54:59 GMT 1, Looking at the prices, if the trend continues, they already kind of do. With current floor at 13.5k pounds, getting the physical seems like a reasonable thing to do.ย but what about any further airdrops making you richer and richer?
That GE thing is flooring about 2k and dropping. I wouldn't count on it.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Wendero on Dec 2, 2021 13:05:18 GMT 1, but what about any further airdrops making you richer and richer? Like the Great Expectation? tanking as well on the serious note, nobody really knows what's gonna to happen. The value of physical can be always compared to other Hirst editions/originals. The NFT? I can go to 1k it might to back to 50k. I always thought I would keep the NFT for the reason you mentioned, it's a no brainer really. Now with the GE I'm not so sure. It will be interesting if GE will give you the same privileges as Currency. If so you keep GE and get Currency physical. Win/win Agree. I think in general at today people could think to buy a GE not for eventual future value but eventually for his future hodler privileges! I hope it can go down bit more so I can have the possibility to bough one ๐

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Wanchope on Dec 2, 2021 13:50:36 GMT 1, The problem is would you get benefits from the GE drop when it was a freebie or from the currency ( where you had to spend money direct with heni/hirst). Iโm not so sure you will get benefits from GE but who the hell knows, itโs all speculation

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Pawel on Dec 2, 2021 14:41:05 GMT 1, I don't understand why anybody would pay thousands for something that was given away as a freebie. They're worth about ยฃ10 in my eyes, if that. I must be getting old as I simply don't understand the mentality of NFT collectors. I guess they hope these things will be worth a fortune in a few years time but with 10,000 of them floating around, I wouldn't bank on it. CP were given away as a freebie.
