Aya Takano ๐ฏ๐ต Japanese Painter โข Superflat โข Manga, by Toykio on Jun 12, 2021 12:37:24 GMT 1, Just as proof that Christian is full of shit, can he explain why some collectors received more than one Haroshi sculpture? Heโs trying to save face on the forum with this act when all he cares about is profit. Just like the Javier release, AA only focuses their attention on VIPs and big spenders not the average collector they claim to support. Itโs ironic because if you look at their early releases, they only got to where they are now because the average Joe decided to purchase from them. Many members of the community have made the point that they arenโt rich or able to drop thousands of dollars on a print but will thank Christian for being โtransparentโ or appreciate his participation on the forum. Yet this joker along with the rest of the AA gang are posting pictures of themselves drinking champagne on a private boat (via his Insta story). Not to mention Iโve heard though the grapevine that they LOVE to splurge on fancy dinners. Yep, this is the guy who clearly cares about the average collector, not profit. Current my Haroshi is in transit and I was still offered a pre-order for my Javier just FYI (order confirmed). On top of that I was also sent the purchase link for the actual release, not that it mattered because there were only 10 prints available. Iโll pose one more point...AA talks about being against reselling and protecting their artists, but I know at least 4 different people who received their pre-order link who sold it for someone else to have access. All of which have confirmed orders. Clearly AA isnโt checking what names were associated with each link. ๐ Donโt defend someone who doesnโt give a damn about you. Itโs a numbers game. This is called nepotism and paid advertising. Even though I would never collect such nonsense, it is unfair for the people who really want to have one. Varol Selim and his colleague have so much stuff, do they really need these kitsch figures? Anyway, I can tell you from long experience that it's better to build on new customers, because the collector circle changes its tastes quickly.I would also tell people how many loyal collectors you have. If your edition is 100 and you have 100 loyal collectors, only max 1-10 pieces come on the market, I would be that fair, everything else is a game of cat and mouse. Come on kids! Don't hate the players, hate the game! Didnt post here for long but as i'm part of this soap opera, I will throw in my few cents too. I'd guess that about 50% of all forum members are here for the quick flip and upgrading their stockX game on items with higher ticket value. Leaving small editions like these to the bot-game only would be madness, as it will only result in more reselling and louder whining. it's just unfair to offend Avant Arte in any way, as these guys do a great job in making artists accessible to a larger group of collectors by releasing their editions in the 1st place. Did anyone tried getting a unique Calleja or Haroshi piece these days? it's impossible to make everyone happy but we all should be thankful to Christian and Curtis for doing what they do. Besides their great taste they are in the game for 3 years only and already handling their releases way better than most artists do on their own. @against btw. those Haroshi pieces are more like crack than kitsch...

Most of the bad comments about them sounds like jealousy. Thereโs plenty of other great art and artists out there that you never need to go near AA. Donโt rely on their tastes find your own artists.

If you think we should be thankful you are so far over the other side of the argument itโs not even worth arguing with you.

You can become an Avant Arte member and continuously pay far more than market rate for works, time and time again, and guarantee that you can't pick and chose what releases you want from their program if you want to retain your preferred collector status. Just think of all of the flame emojis and "dope!" proclamations you'll receive on Instagram if you post a picture of it framed on your wall!

Nobody forcing anyone to buy it, but the fact that โฌ1,500 for a non screen print has become normal is slightly damning on the โsceneโ Avant and other "premium" distributors have made it the norm sadly. $1500 i can buy some nice canvases from decent artists instead. Still a nice print nevertheless loll

Aya Takano ๐ฏ๐ต Japanese Painter โข Superflat โข Manga, by gmidd on Jun 17, 2021 2:43:46 GMT 1, right at the same time she went from doing screen prints to doing giclee with Avant Arte. Strange timing... For the prices AA charge on their editions, I'd feel ripped off if it was an inkjet print, but facts is facts. 8 prints released, 6 sold out, 2 still sitting. I have two of the Fridriks prints from AA and they are far from just "inkjet prints". They have screenprinted layers, large embossed areas for texture and they have a high gloss varnish. I've bought plenty of expensive screenprints that can't even compare to the AA Fridriks.
I honestly don't get all the hate for AA on here. They mishandled one release and everyone's coming knives out. If you don't like the way they do business just move on and let it go. Life's too short to waste so much time bashing other people.

Aya Takano ๐ฏ๐ต Japanese Painter โข Superflat โข Manga, by Avant Arte on Feb 27, 2023 20:22:29 GMT 1, Our print โAnthem (Detail)โ with Aya Takano launches tomorrow, February 28. Sign up for the draw closes at 14.00GMT.
For our second collaboration, we looked to one of two epic paintings that she created for her first major exhibition with Kaikai Kiki โ the Japanese collective helmed by Superflat pioneer Takashi Murakami. An edition of 70 prints revisits the central panel of a surreal, pink-hued seascape. An eerie beach littered with animals and androgynous human figures that surround a central protagonist.
In the aftermath of 2011โs Tลhoku earthquake, meditation allowed Aya to draw inspiration from two concepts that guided her when painting Anthem. Animism, a philosophy that attributes souls to inanimate objects and natural phenomena โ the ocean every bit as alive as the whale swimming through it. And panspermia, which looks to microorganisms carried through space on comets and meteorites to explain how life found its way to far-flung corners of the universe โ Ayaโs pink beach, for instance. In tandem, they offer a unique perspective on life, death and rebirth. One centred on cosmic coexistence, where no two things can be pulled apart.
โจโจFor anyone too eager to wait I have one pre-order reserved, first come first serve. You can reach out through DM if you're interested.
