I think Shrigleys work if you like the image, buy at a decent price from source (£2.5k or less) and then stick up on the wall. Otherwise it makes very little sense to me, particularly the weaker images.

Adhering to discriminatory pricing structures in not "combating the flippers." It awards the privileged and excludes everyone else. If he wants to discourage flipping he can ask his galleries to maintain resale databases and to price every print at market rate, not just the last 25.

Not practical. Flooding market far easier .. “fast train” couldn’t find anyone at £2.1k today

Supply..and demand. His market is booming....I dunno, maybe just because people like it on their walls and aren't hung up on resale potential...It might also be considered that if his output was lower, his prices would be much higher.

Are you talking about a monetary value? I don’t see how an image of a dog de-values an image of a goose. Some people like dogs and some like geese 💪🏼

David Shrigley • Old Dog, I Still Love You, by amputeerich on Jun 21, 2021 7:22:03 GMT 1, Does anyone know if this came with a COA? Found a potential seller and I’m being told it didn’t come with a COA. Sounds like a red flag but they have original order confirmation and original packaging.

I did ask them the same question.

David Shrigley • Old Dog, I Still Love You, by amputeerich on Jun 21, 2021 14:34:13 GMT 1, In terms of valuation, it’s hard to know with DS but a seller has offered me one for £2.5k. To me it seems reasonable given it was a quick sell out and there’s not many at all on the secondary market. Anyone with more knowledge care to advise if the figure above is about right?

David Shrigley • Old Dog, I Still Love You, by Ned Flanders on Jun 21, 2021 15:14:16 GMT 1, That is a great price.
As you say, these havent appeared on the secondary market - with the exception of one at £6k on ebay.
Personally, I think the image and text is strong by comparison to some of the other recent animal prints, including the two at the Shirg Shop which are selling at a higher price than you have been offered.
